Are you thick? A foreign accent is just their local sounds used in a different language.

I bet your English accent would be thick to me too

Why do Americans talk like that? It's literally simple to speak in British language.

you haven't watched mine, i guess

Because bad English is the most popular foreign language in the world.

    🤣🤣🤣
You know, maybe you should learn some Hindi. That way your ears get used to the accent.

The only reason why you don't understand them is that your ears are not used to dialects. It's like saying "why do baseball players throw the ball like that? I can't catch it!".

are you asking why people aren't using the worst english accent there is?
  • 3
It's only slightly less comprehensible that Scottish

"No hate to Indians but I hate the way you talk"

    "american language"

I was a kid from a mid-MO farming town with maybe 1,000 people and attending a 'major' university, I had a couple of Indian TAs (since professors rarely taught directly to us underlings) with thick accents where I struggled a lot trying to understand them. After a while I discovered they spoke perfect English. One was mostly educated in England and his vocabulary was way above this redneck kid's comprehension. Every once in a while he would say things we didn't understand (I assume Hindi) and as nice as you'd expect a 'proper Englishman' to say 'I am so very sorry, I meant to say....'.

Be patient, listen, and you'll might hear they speak better American English than some Americans.

Looking at you Walmart associate I asked if you had any more cheese and you said something like

    A:"Um...uh..chee...what? Um..I don't...uh...no. We don't have that"

    Me "You don't carry cheese?"

    A: "um, ya dude, somewha"

Just wanted to smack him the head to reset something that was glitching.

@PaperTrail > "Just wanted to smack him the head to reset something that was glitching."

For space, that was the very short convo version (he was very much American). I felt like I spent 5 minutes trying to get him to understand my question and he would gutter out nonsense I couldn't understand. I believe I'm an extremely patient person, but 'evil Papertrail' just wanted to scream "Speak English!" and <smack!> him back to reality.

@cafecortado the hard part of speaking with a british accent is eating shitty food.

I struggle a bit with those accents as well. Some are better than others. You do get used to it after a while.

Just for the fun of it....

English has many dialects. US is not different here...

Ever tried to talk to someone with heavy southern dialect... It hurts man.

@IntrusionCM talked to a guy from the south one time. He told me about "bull penis". He was actually saying "boiled peanuts".

    @Demolishun over yonder....

Some things just sound like a baby's first attempts to speak.

Yeah, Hinglish is almost as bad as Frenglish or Gerglish.

@Oktokolo Asianlish seems to be better even though they leave out conjunction words.

Some of the accents that we have in the U.S are absolutely whack man. I can't hate on them dudes since the phonetics of their language(s) are far different from ours.

I actually can't hate on anyone with an accent, at least it means they speak more than one language. The only one I give shit to is actors who have been working and living in the U.S for damn near their entire lives that STILL have an accent, those I give shit to
