How devrant changes me #1:
I'm a little bit more active on devrant since about a week. Improvement so far:
1. I spent only 20% of the time on Facebook i usually do
2. I really enjoy the nice community
3. I even more enjoy that i notice there are more "dudes like me" :D i mean.. I'm tired of telling my "normal" friends how happy i am because i wrote some awesome code and just get a "eeeh.. Nice." back because they dont understand and often dont even try to understand whats so special for me.
4. Even if my english is still kinda bad, i notice that i get better with every rant i post. I mean.. That post cost me about 3 min. I swear 7 days ago it would have cost me minimum 7 minutes to get this lines down :)

TL;DR: My devices all hate me and I needed to fix them all.
My Devices really love me.
I rooted my smartphone (LG G5) just yesterday. Everything went fine. Installed TWRP, SuperSU and some nice Apps that utilize root.
Today I was on the go (at CeBIT) and already had the Xposed Installer App on my phone, but didn't attempt installing it yet because I needed my phone for Maps and Messaging and the app had given clear warning about the bricking-potential.
So to the end of the day I get bored, send my last important Messages, installed the Xposed Framework...
... aaaand got stuck in a boot loop.
So I got on my way back home (thanks God I remembered all the trains I needed to take). On the way I had a lot of fun in the Recovery-Terminal and figured that I should be able to fix my phone with no problem at home because the installer made backups (unlike myself).
Coming back home and my pc was still running (should've shut down after installing updates).
The pc behaved odd and I couldn't shut it down properly, which led to cutting the power.
And upon booting my pc I got a ... give it a guess ...
...a bootloop (technically the animation just never ended).
So after I fixed my phone with my spare laptop (just transferred and executed the uninstaller for xposed) I fixed my PC too, which had an old broken dkms-driver.
The odd thing about this is, that this isn't technically a rant. I guess you can confirm that you can't find any swear words.
Because I ENJOYED fixing the devices. I already fixed my pc a couple of times was well as unbricking my rooted phones, so there was fairly little research involved.
I guess I'm now offically twisted.
Now, after my smartphone backups are transferred, I'Ll take my device apart and replace the camera glass which arrived today (and hope, no pray, that my sim card does still work after that)...
... after I blatendly copied a meme to get more attention. 😉

Why is web development such a headache?
I'm writing a responsive wesbite from scratch. All goes perfect, even cross browser.
It all works, adapts to screen size etc. Nice! About to get this code into production.
Me: I'll test the iPhone 5 viewport size before I push the code...
Responsive Developer Tools:
FireFox: nu uh, there's a magic random 1px margin to every element on your page now, which you cannot find in your css or in the computed tab. It's magical.
Me: weird, what if I change the viewport size to the iPhone 6's dimensions?
Issue persists.
Me: hmm, what if I add or substract one fucking pixel from the viewport width or height?
FireFox: What 1px margin? Don't know what you're talking about ... There never was one...
Me: ok, weird (sets viewport size back to the iPhone 5 format for testing)
FireFox: I present to you: the magic random 1px margin.
I'm at a loss. I really am. Been clicking and unclicking almost every responsive part of my css I could find for this page and it just doesn't want to work persistently. And I swear to god that it worked a week ago in that exact viewport size. It's so frustrating.

I love Django. I really do. It's been fun to work with, and wrestle with, and beat my head over repeatedly. I really have enjoyed it. But why in the name of all that is even remotely holy must the URL documentation be so spotty? I finally did get my URL behavior to work, but now that I've created a view function for deleting objects in one of the models, the URL for the editing function breaks. All you do is click "edit" and it brings up this nice little form where you can edit the database entry by querying its ID number and then you can save that ModelForm and everything is fine. So the url scheme is http://foo.com/bar/edit/3/
Should work. Used to work. I swear it used to work, I pulled up an older commit and it works like a charm. Deleting works with that same url scheme.
http://foo.com/bar/delete/3/
deletes the object with id=3 no problem. The two URL schemes in urls.py match perfectly (except one says delete obviously).
But now something has gone and gotten ROYALLY derailed because every time I run that function, that CLEARLY PRESENT 3 is being passed as None. I thought, oh, maybe I rearranged the arguments and am passing in the wrong ID. Nope. Okay, so what if I mixed up the regex on the url? Nope. Matches. WHERE ARE YOU GETTING NONE FROM? I mean, I realize that's the default, but I'M PASSING AN ARGUMENT in.
{% url 'namespace:edit' id=object.id %}
breaks horribly whereas
{% url 'namespace:delete' id= object.id %} deletes the object just fine. Why, Django? We've been wrestling with this for hours. Give me a sign. Tell me what you want from me. I'll give it to you. I will. I promise.
