I've just created a GLSL shader on my phone which renders the Mandelbrot set in 4 bright flashing colors while zooming in.

Not a rant, but I think it's really cool, so I just wanted to share this with you guys. I recently went to a small symposium by an alumnus of my university. He uses the program Mandelbulb3d to explore the wondrous world of fractals. He's recently started to apply Neural Style Transfer to fractals. His website is julius-horsthuis.com.

Coolest project must have been a mandelbrot set application we made in school. Where one could zoom in and out, and change color for different locations of the set. Just a fascinating thing!

TL;DR: Brainfuck & Abstraction is so cool!

One of my dreams is to make a Mandelbrot Fractal with Brainfuck as the one on Rosetta Code.

I'm too lazy... So i'm writing a Compiler for Brainfuck.

At now i have 900 line of Python code and the operation VAR, SET, ADD, SUB, MUL with nested operation compatibility, IF, ELSE, ENDIF...
Probably i will doing it fast directly with BF but damn if abstraction is so cool!!

my first project was a star trek themed text based rpg adventure. it was a hell of spaghetti of if queries and gotos in gw basic. later these kind of things got something like an ui.

my first experience was my father doing mandelbrot sets from a magazine and i was watching building them up green pixel for greenpixel on an 8086 pc. it was raining outside and i was sitting in an arm chair with a warm blanket. this cozy feeling remains until today and might explain my personal attachment for this topic.
fortunately his failed attempt to introduce me into programming doing a morsecode translator did not stop me for long.
