Been in a creative company for more than a year working as front-end, mostly CSS3 Animations and jQuery.
Today got a Job Offer in a startup about building an ERP for Albanian Market, mostly in Laravel and Vue.js
I was so excited for the first 30 minutes and then I remembered that I don't know so much Laravel and Vue, also I must work with an other guy which has lesser experience than me.
Totally scared about this new exp but ready to go for it :D

and you can build the whole universe from that
there's so much brilliance in simplicity
kind of feeling like rust is like java where there's too many abstractions you have to memorize and they could've been better represented with just one type that you could do everything with. like I can't see rust ever being as flexible as JavaScript. JavaScript feels like you're totally free to be as creative as you want and you don't even have to think about the layer you're skating on. the layer is always made up of one piece, and this one piece always follows the same physics, and you just chain it together to make everything you could ever imagine. so fast. so easy16 -
My mom was a media designer and as a kid I liked watching her doing stuff with CorelDRAW. And as soon as she played Sims in the evenings I really wanted to learn how to make a window and stuff in it happen.
So I started learning C, because my stepdad had a book laying around. (He did not know how to code by the way, now I'm asking myself why we even had this book)
But never got further than a few console applictions asking for input, messing with it and printing something.
Later I got into HTML/CSS/JavaScript (in that order over a course of a good 3 years or so) because I wanted to do stuff people can see and easily reach (an exe wasn't the nicest way of showing people something imo)
And that's when I totally fell in love with JS and it never stopped from then.:D
I did a few excurses to C++, Java, VB, C#, such kinda stuff and learned many many things about how stuff actually works. C being my very first language immensely helped with that.
I'm also trying some game development, as this was one of the main reasons I started coding, but I'm not creative enough and do it less and less.
Nowadays I do HTML, CSS, JS, TS and PHP for a living and I love it.:D1 -
Some developers incopetence can be limitless. I found e-shop which uses creative but totally silly way of integrating with e-mails. See my last rant (they send e-mail with my 'From' to themselves). As I sent them delivery report (I have SPF enabled) and wrote them what is wrong, they apologized when I came to pick up the goods and were glad that I forwarded the report (otherwise my order would be quite delayed). But hey, everything is fine, they are working on new e-shop. I said great, hopefully it wouldn't be this messed up. And I was told that yeah, the new one will block .net and .com addresses right away. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? How can somebody use their incompetence as a reason to screw up even more! So next time, I'll probably use my local e-mail with SPF enabled to tech them to blick all e-mails and do stuff properly.
