User opens devRant. Greeted with the message: "devRant has changed the UI to make it more suitable for developers. From now on, the complete devRant interface is going to be command line. Read the man pages to get started."

Hello @Everyone! , this is my first rant.

I feel very related to a lot of stuff going on here, thought nobody shared my ideas, but I was wrong!

My first software teacher almost made me quit programming for life.

She spent the entire year not showing us how to make a shity app in visual basic. Zero help. We all hated it.

At the end of the year and she realised she had 'forgotten' to teach us 70% of the course. We all failed miserably! I didn't touch programming for almost 3 years. (unless you could MATLAB, which I don't).

That was when I discovered Mehran Sahami's CS106A course on the Stanford website. Honestly the best teacher I've never met! His passion is boundless and mastery of teaching is second to none. Thanks to him I discovered programming and I love it! Karol the robot should get a special mention too!

I found this app by googling "How the fuck do I get my code to compile" after fighting my program for hours

New dev: I need help with this issue. I've been debugging it all day.

*2 hours later*

Me: spent a while debugging it, eventually came across a stack overflow post that says you can't do that.

New dev: oh I saw that earlier, didn't think it applied.

Me: ... why ... accepted answer "It is not possible to do this, this way".

New dev: hhhmm, ok

... get the fuck out of this building immediately.

The company I'm working for organizes meetups in Mexico City about web technology, i love it because supports opensource software

Teamate: Hey I'll checkout you're branch to see what you've got done today.
Me: ...Ok.
Few hours later Teammate forgets to change branch and overwrites all my code in my branch causing merge hell and creating hours of more work.
