@AngryDev9981 perhaps. Personally I don't like JavaScript that much. Used it loads, just never a fan. I expect to have to do JavaScript, and that's fine. However, as a python developer I expect at least some lines of python, but the project I'm working on contains none at all

The best is if you look up Google assistant history on your browser, you can hear your voice clips. Weirdest is when Google picks up what it thinks is a command but it's not, so you can hear random conversations

@irene @AlgoRythm a lot of our assumptions are just that, assumptions. Why not ask the women who are choosing their careers why they don't wanna become programmers? Maybe the majority of women don't like the idea of sitting doing maths all day (what most think programming consists of)
-
@Root ruthless!
-
Now you just need someone to fix the spelling
-
@Kage yeah all the time. Most of the time they are recruiters, and even if I'm not interested at the time, there might be a time they are useful.
Also, they may end up adding to your credibility -
I don't hardly use it but it's handy for jobs. I do agree that once a week isn't that much but suppose that depends on your core skills or location (?)
-
@ajit555 why not use docker?
-
Ubuntu with i3wm
-
@beegC0de no it's not squashed prior to that, at the merge request it's comprised of multiple commits but squashed after approval and merging takes place (GitLab option)
-
8 hours.
I found that if you go over that because 'i just want to get this done' and don't get paid for it, you start getting your managers asking you and expecting you to do that -
@beegC0de that's the thing, we squash as part of our merge
-
@netikras no, I totally agree with meaningless messages, they need to describe changes.
I am talking about the content of a commit. Say I made a commit removing something, then another adding the line again as I made a mistake, he would not approve it -
@netikras he was hired as a senior and seems to have a bit of an elitist attitude

Read a while ago that Powergen (electric provider) in Italy had the domain www.powergenitalia.com but it's no longer owned by them
-
That's the StackOverflow office
-
@imerljak you and I both mate, you and I both
-
Or if you're lazy, Manjaro
-
@C0D4 when it becomes 300 the issue doesn't become readability, it becomes a question of why is it 300 lines, then you're doing it wrong
-
@gronostaj that was my initial thought too. Then they just limit their window so that's out of view
-
That is hilarious... Php😂
-
@Gerrymandered I completely agree. If you're a designer, I'm going to recommend you MacOS, are you someone in an office that needs to do spreadsheets, and love to play the latest PC games, I'll recommend you use Windows, and if you're a power user who wants to program, I'll recommend Linux.
If I love soup, eat it all the time, I'll use a spoon most times, but if someone eats pasta, do I tell them a fork is a terrible utensil? No I'm not a moron, so why do we do it for an OS -
@FrodoSwaggins actually, I'm an arch user having not used Windows for over 10 years. It makes me cringe because I outgrown the behaviour
-
@xzvf I get that, but it's a little juvenile. I'm not a massive fan of Starbucks, but I don't tell people about Starsucks. Maybe it's because I seen this 10 years ago and got too old
-
If you aren't willing to learn git, then i would question a lot of your abilities. The industry changes a lot, and most Devs embrace new tech, and are expected to change with it. Git is not new and widely used. It would make me question your ability to develop software in 2018
-
Done it, it's not a nice feeling, but once you get to another place you will start to question why you waited for so long
-
Do what I do, use both
-
Still don't believe hell is real?
-
@DucksCanCode that is almost identical to what I said at work!
-
And now you get to do it all over again with Gnome
