Area of focus: Imdustrial Automation (Distributed Control Sytems)
Why: Because I love to control huge plants.

I would start with the development of the idea me and my friends made a business plan about a while back. It was about a medicine cabinet which offers you only the medication you need and the right amount of it. It furthermore informs you about side effects and alerts when you run out of stock. It was meant to fit elderly as well as also large scale hospitals were one case would be used for each room of patients.

Don't think you are the best, accept help provided by your colleges

Started the day with trying to install a simple package which can read an RFID chip. Wasted the whole day trying to fix dependencies, still not done. Sometimes I just hate linux....

After my trainig period in the new job (10 weeks), I joined a different department with very expirenced guys, one of them got my mentor, with him I was at my first plant (continues casting platn where next to me where thousands of kg molten steel) where we updated all controllers to a OS. From him I learned all the real life best practice stuff as well as the internal dev tools.
Without him I would not be able to be mentor to my new college now.
And also he became a friend

I'm looking for a hobby project during winter as I can not drive my motorbike during that time. Anyone has a good idea?
Maybe I could start with my old business plan idea, but I would for sure need people to help me.

Why do so many people use macs for developing?
