A fellow student decided to apply to the federal police, after talking with then at a job fair on the campus. The police strongly stated that they had a high demand for new people.
He did not get an answer for the next two months - not even an acknowledgment - so he quickly found another job in the mean time.

After the two months he got an answer stating that the application deadline was over now and it would be great if he'd come for a job interview. Unsurprisingly he declined..

So I just got the brand spanking new MacBook Pro M2, primarily because the MacBook Air shitbox from 2014 started crashing when I started VSCode...

So now that I have a "proper" laptop, I should be able to work remote, right?... Right?!

Nope! Because our IDE of choice is (I fucking kid you not): Netbeans 7.4!, maybe 8.2... And we use SVN.
And apparently Netbeans 14 just shits the bed when I try to open our projects. Intellij is also no help, because our build scripts require Netbeans...

So the workaround? Parsec, of course!
So now I'll be able to work remote, by remoting into my windows desktop at work.

What a lovely connected world we live in!

Every single time I have to work with people from a particular country [you have one guess. Yepp, that's the one], I see A-FUCKING-LOOOOOOT of manual work?!?

"can you reboot the server?"
-"sure, let me help you, sir" <20 minutes later> "done"

"can you unlock my account?"
-"yes, just a moment sir" <20 minutes later> "please check now"

"can you restart this environment w/ 200 instances?"
-"yes sir, let me check" <6 hours later> "please check now"
"you've missed 18 containers"
-"oh okay sir, will restart them now" <2hours later> "please check now"
[I am already OoO]

why is it that every time I have to work with you guys I am the one who is automating shit. How come you never think of/do any automata? You are fucking technitians, you should know how. WHY DO YOU ENJOY CLICKING ALL-DAY-LONG????

I'm serious. Why??? I'm struggling to understand...

Did anyone of testers know if there is any free online test case management tool available for small development project? since I was trying to use JIRA, but the license is not free. So any advises? Thank you.

However, we're strong believers in only working on a project if you're passionate about it, and over the last few months, we've sadly lost some of that passion so we've to announce, with heavy hearts, that we will both be moving on. We've decided to focus 100% of our energies on our next product, one which we are confident has billion dollar potential: Semicolon JS (http://semicolonjs.com).

We identified this sizable market opportunity as we were building out the new devRant website. Every JavaScript framework we tried left us wanting more. More efficiency. More elegance. More extensibility. That's what Semicolon JS is: more. More than a framework, it's a guiding philosophy. We believe that Semicolon JS will do for front end development what Material Design has done for user interface design. We're calling it Semicolon JS because even though you can still develop JavaScript without it, like a semicolon, we think it will soon become a standard and synonymous with quality JS development.

So comes the obvious question. What will happen to devRant? We wanted to make the announcement today because we will be officially shutting down the product in 30 days. So that gives everyone a full month to take in the last memories, look at those rants they really loved, and hopefully take some time to chat with @trogus and I about Semicolon JS and what we have planned.

OK... so just spent 3 hours doing the Code Sprint.... 1.9/7 correctly answered... these were "Easy".

Well this is how I feel now....

btw any tips how to do these, seems like you have to be a real God to complete all of these? within just a few days. Do you really need to be able to do this at a tech company?

*starts coding by 7pm in the evening.
*remembers that he would soon have to go fetch something to eat but keeps on coding.
*tells himself he would get food by 10pm.
*checks the time - it's past 12am.
*codes all night long on an empty belly but doesn't care.
