So there's azure data studio, shiny! nice!
Oh hey, wow, an Oracle extension! Great!! Now I can use one tool for all my database queries!
But wait...
Below is the list of current limitations:
- Server management and dashboard are not supported
- Packaged objects are not supported
- Table data preview/editing is not supported
- Query execution is not supported
So you're telling me that you can connect and... that's it?
What's the point? Why??
That's like saying: Here's a toaster. But here's the thing's you *can't* do:
- Toast bread
But at least you can look at it. Seriously, what the ****.6 -
2010 - SSIS - it works.
2015 - SSIS - it works, but very slowly. at least the icons/gui are up to date?
2017 - SSIS - it kind of works, and deployment is broken so you have to run isdeploymentwizard.exe by hand! Also slower then previous version.
2019 - SSIS - IMA BREAK ALL YOUR CONNECTIONS OKAY?
bonus rant: upgrade to newer package version, lose all VSTA scripts. like... gone.

Die linux fanboy, die!
No seriously. I'm not trying to be salty, but i'm fed up with sysadmins and developers that proclaim that linux will one day save the world from the clutches of companies like microsoft.
STOP BOTHERING ME!8 -
Jim comes in and tells me that server RENEGADE-DB1 has no more space left and that he tried to remove a few ridiculous sized log files, but that the system wouldn't allow him. So he used some 3rd party tool to shutdown the processes that used those log files and then succesfully removed them.
Now the database is not working and Jim needs my help.

So I have figured out that Microsoft loves Dungeons & Dragons.
Because there must be some mechanism in visual studio that uses some botched up version of the D&D rule set.
"user clicks a button, computer rolls dice, gets a 6, 6 means you are lucky".
"user clicks another button, Computer rolls dice again, gets a 10, now I crash".
Please remove this feature Microsoft, it is very hard for me to actually get anything done, not to mention getting it done before the deadline.4 -
Some demented bagpipe at the microsoft SSIS team thought it was too much of an effort to build in the option to review all changes and to refresh all metadata with one click whenever the metadata changes.6

I'M CHANGING 200 + SSIS PACKAGES WHILE VISUAL STUDIO KEEPS ON CRASHING EVERY 15 MINUTES WITH SOME WEIRD UI ERROR THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PACKAGE ITSELF. ITS MAKING ME WANT TO GAUGE MY EYES OUT AND PULL OUT MY HAIR. FUCK MICROSOFT AND FUCK PEOPLE THAT MAKE ME USE THIS WORTHLESS TOOL!!!!!1
