I'm on the GMT time zone, there's a storm coming in so I won't feel like sleeping, plus I've been doing some night time photography and time lapse videos. Some lightning would be great!

I'm fantasizing about taking out my laptop keyboard and spray it all black with spray. But do spray cans have the quality paint to be touched thousands of times? I remember the wooden music speakers I made as kid scratched quickly

@retoor There's special spray paint for plastics, I would just use any spray paint, but use a primer first, appliance paint might work! I striped down a bench drill and painted it white and it still looks great after 3 years.

@retoor It's very well sheltered where I live, but some trees might get blown down, I'm surrounded by forests and hills, there's a good chance I'll survive lol

You could try a local garage for spray paint, maybe they'll have black for plastic car bumpers? But I recommend a primer first and spray it from about 2-3ft away with several light coats and it should stick better.

@retoor script benchmark is funny on itself. Bevause they're kinda a benchmark themselves. You could add "execute python script" as a benchmark. You don't have to calculate primes in the python script to make it cpu intensive

@retoor hmm, seems not. Withing the GIL you can still access when you're not supposed to. Especially when you have different pieces of code accessing the same data. If it were three threads started the same time it'll probably go OK. That's different when it has real threads now. Interesting stuff

@retoor they always had to take turns for using the GIL. Never at same time.

That is why libraries like "processing" exist. To spawn separate apps to thread. Each app has independent gil.
