Here is how it went:

Trying to install arch. Fail

*fdisk /dev/sda d d d d d

Trying to install arch. Fail

*fdisk /dev/sda d d d d d

Trying to install arch. Fail

*fdisk /dev/sda d d d d d

And so on

@konicm8ker I/O error on your harddrive... Is your drive old?

@git-fuckyou it's only about a year old. Smart status is good too 🤔 I can list sda with lsblk but not fdisk.

Do you really want a MBR partitioning? I suggest you to use a GPT partition table:

For me either arch-chroot didn’t work or I got stuck trying to install a bootloader

You're only installing arch because you can't use Gentoo...

@HampusMa I installed arch on many occasions. What I always do,is load up another distro with gparted before and do the partitioning there. It's just way more easy.

My first arch install was about half a hour.

@git-fuckyou didnt get passed the partitioning phase bc of hdd problems it seems xD so replacing with a new one today and trying again :)

@Haxk20 yeah the wiki does seem real helpful :) I definitely won't give up. It will probably be a little challenging since I've only ever used gui os installations and automatic partitioning lol but I'll figure it out.
