Is there any chance this could be a good thing? Merging GitHub and TFS technology would be great for companies that are stuck in the Microsoft world.

@silverstar It very well could be, although it's difficult to think of much competition consider most other technology providers have their own versions of source code control and repositories. Microsoft lately seems to be acquiring other companies and technologies to incorporate into their existing products and stacks. I'm personally leaning and hoping this is true haha

@starrynights89 GitLab is pretty great. They have nice benefits over GitHub like mirroring and ci/cd. Sadly it just doesn't have the most traffic. If GitHub actually starts to fail or drastically change under Microsoft that could happen

@DuckyMcDuckFace it doesn't describe GitHub. But then most Open source projects are hosted on it. I meant that a proprietary company might acquire GitHub and maybe mess with the policies in a way to affect the repos

@kmccmk9 I have over 30 repositories but I could try to do a demo of it with my latest servlet project to see how it goes. I figured Microsoft wanting to get buddy buddy with linux was going to be a double edged sword. I'll try it out over the weekend and see how I like it.
