Your most paranoic internet experience?

Several years ago, I was going to watch my first porn movie, and I was so afraid of the porn page publishing on my facebook "Elizadeath liked Xporn.net" or something like that (I had family on my facebook friends) so I:

1.- Used an old tablet (even its screen was crashed)
2.- Removed all email accounts (it has Android)
3.- Uninstalled all the social media apps, including youtube
4.- Put a piece of tape on the frontal camera
5.- Bought new headphones
6.- Navigated at the Android's default browser instead of Chrome, and in "secret" mode
7.- Deleted the cache and history after watching the movie XD

What's your experience?

I just learned about the powers of incognito mode and never freaked out to much tbh , first times was in internet explorer and I deleted the cookies and history

Although, one time my parents "caught" me watching an EDM song on youtube and it was just a girl with panties showing instead of an actual music video and they said I was watching porn and gave me the talk 🤐

So it's not exactly the internet, but it involves computers. (Probably posting as a rant later lol)

So I was like 7. I was hanging out after school with a friend who's mom worked there. We were in her office. So there was a song I really liked are the time (Song of the South by Alabama) and it was on a CD.

So I put that CD in the computer and play my favorite song. Well literally 15 seconds after a line in the song, which was "Sweet potato pie and I shut my mouth," played, my cousin who was in another teacher's office decided to prank call us.

What did they say when I picked the phone up and said hey? "Sir your order for 1,000 pounds of sweet potatoes is ready to be delivered."

I nearly shit a brick as I slammed the phone down and started freaking out. I ran to where he was and bust in there to see them laughing really hard.

Now I look back and laugh, but I genuinely thought that by somehow playing that song I ordered a lot of potatoes.

I look back now and laugh at it.

But at that time, I freaked the fuck out and was paranoid to get on the computer again for a few weeks.

@rui902 EBM it's also an electronic genre, a Industrial music subgenre to be more specific. Front 242, Der pragger handgriff, Jaeger 90 for example.

@Stuxnet LOL! XD XD XD XD Post it, please :D

@ElizadeathRaven will check, but never heard about it... I'm more into Hard dance music as they call it now, lol

More hardstyle, but also a little but of the whole electronic stuff :)

About 10 years ago, there was this site "Peter answers", which can be used to prank others to make them think there's a ghost or something actually answering your questions but is in fact a trick.

So at high school a friend decided to scare me with that and I was like "cool! This actually let's you talk to a ghost" until this ghost said "now I'm angry with you, and I'm pulling your blankets tonight while you sleep!", and I spent the whole night freezing to death because I didn't cover myself afraid of the "ghost" pulling my blankets.

I had a chat acquaintance - she was low on money and sold sex. She didn't really hook me, but after a while, she also told me that she was into Tor, live Linux, Bitcoin and some websites.

Now that was a game changer, and since I was too paranoid to do that myself, I offered her 50% margin for shopping me some interesting substances. She accepted happily because it was just some clicks that cost her much less time and effort than sex. Although we still ended up in bed later, but just like that. ^^

I guess it was the Snowden revelations of 2013.

I always suspected that murica was doing some sort of mass surveillance because that is just logic imo but people called me crazy and very paranoid and there wasn't any proof.

And then Snowden happened. He revealed many illegal mass surveillance programs ran by the NSA and I got quite paranoid at that point 😅

I closed nearly all social media accounts that day and switched to privacy friendly services :)

@ElizadeathRaven I guess that topped my normal paranoia - I usually don't have a mobile phone with me because of geotracking.

I don't want e.g. to cross a park where some rapemurderer committed his crimes with his phone switched off, and then police claims that I was the only one there at that time, and I get the hassle.

Also, my wallet is RFID hardened, just to be sure that no assholes do some stupid hacks. I don't trust anything the state has rolled out to be secure because they hire on the cheap and get what they pay for.

@Fast-Nop I'd say RFID proof wallets are becoming a standard for everyone, tbh.

    I know that fear, lol.

"ihatecumputers liked the video SEXY SMURF TRANNY ABSOLUTELY COVERED IN CUM AND FORCED TO RESOLVE CROSS ORIGIN REQUEST BUG. Be the first to comment!".

Some old chat programs had the "show what I'm watching/listening to". Pretty easy to forget to turn that off inb4 committing some major sins.
