Thing is most of the software being run in the world belongs to huge companies that maintain billions of line of legacy code.

I think @razorsh4rk is on to something because I actually watch this index. and vb.net had been going down for years. recently it started spiking back up. it's passed c# now. something is pushing the index.

@RazorSh4rk Fortran is like 28 on that list. I always get a good laugh when I see that too. lol

Where's the problem? I like it. Nowadays is at the level of C#, just different syntax, but the same performance.

I might be the only dev here that only uses VB.net... My best project was one that monitors the sales team phone and distributes web clients by opening up Thier file and dailing out.
It uses 20 threads and has worked perfectly for a year now, serving over 5000 clients.

PS lots of user32 and memory editing and serial communication was needed
