Not having it.

Today, actually, I bailed off a meeting half way through, because it was literally half an hour unproductive bullshit over Microsoft between two of ten people.
So I took the afternoon off.
If they can waste my time, I can take it back.

Also, people are afraid of my knowledge / opinion and stay (far) away.
I ask them what they want and then tell them what they need (to do).
Usually with the obvious:
"You actually need to do your work. Yes. That what's written on your business card. Oh you say you never had to? Too bad. Anyway. Here's what you would do if you were a good person."

It helps.

@C0D4 I’m suffering ptsd from at least one meeting today. So…mini rant:

Had an architect/sdeiv spend an hour of a “design” meeting mansplaining (incorrectly) the use case to a room full of engineers. A PE, Sr Director, 2 SDMs and a BA. Most expensive, should have been a redlined email ever. Best part? Scheduled it at 4:30 and went on an extra 45 minutes of wrongness. Left the meeting, that only got to step 2 of the design (check a queue), spent 3 minutes on a Visio map and threw the design to the BA and said “fuck that guy.”

Also, in the beginning of this meeting hellscape, where I saw where he was headed, I tried to break in politely and say “but we all know why we’re here already, right?” And he yelled “you NEED to let me finish”. An hour later…him still droning nonsense …I had already moved on to plotting how to get him fired.

I have now moved on to the wine stage of the evening after a late meeting with a NZ team. I hate timezones.

I honestly couldn’t lay it out like that. Invites…a billion? Attended, about 3/4th. I just tried a gcal (yes we use google suite) api to do the math for me and now I’m depressed ..it shows the hell my life is right now.
