@marcusp619 yep, and also if you use a reputable mail provider such as Gmail or Outlook, if you mark it as spam they'll start blocking it for you, and when multiple people start marking it, it'll be part of a blacklist
-
@FMashiro ahh okay let me switch back to an default app
I've been using Spark. Also sent the company an email and a link to the Act. -
Report them to the relevant auth. and block them. and register thier support email to multiple spam services. and paste thier email in the clear in pastebin.

@Salmakis if it's EU legislation, it will indeed be legal in the UK after brexit.
-
@Salmakis The EU actually has very little legislation of its own.
They write interfaces, countries implement them in classes... uh laws.
The EU mostly just has laws regarding human rights, government budgets and their own political process. -
@Salmakis there's a lot of stuff that the EU was blocking the UK from doing, and they were mostly good blocks. After brexit, watch the UK go down an even more draconic route.

It'd worse when it's a spam mail that had a fake unsubscribe button that just makes them send you even more spam, my email is full of that shit and I identify it as o phishing everything.... -
@Greggergalactic or when you have to log in to "manage the topics you're interested in". Fuck now i need to hope the password reset function works...
Unsubscribe link should just contain a token, and be a single click to forget me forever. -
eggory4368yOr when you have to log in to unsubscribe and didn't even know you created an account to begin with.
-
On a positive note. Thanks everyone for the +1s I think I can get my free stickers now ππΎππΎ
-
Yeah I think it is illegal. They must at least accept you responding with the word "unsubscribe" if I remember right. I would just report it as spam and let your mail client fliter it out. It'll hurt their reputation a bit too, which they absolutely disserve for such shaddy practices.

Should be ILLEGAL when newsletters do not have a "unsubscribe" link π‘
