Parents were awesome. Super supportive, gave me every opportunity. They were open-minded loving people who eschewed personal vice and property to give us a start. They never once abused any of us, and in a family with three girls, we were encouraged to break the mould. We were shown that women could be more than just support to our spouses and baby factories, and more than part time labor in family enteprise.
Thusly my ascendance to a life as an engineer was assured and fully supported by these wonderful people whose folkright earnestness never once inhibited their progressive encouragement of our success as human beings, not just professionals.
And if you believe that, I have a bridge for sale in San Francisco you might be interested in.

Can we all just agree to stop actively imagining progressively harder to parse CSV formatting options? For fucks sake I’ve had to build in tolerance for quoted and unquoted data, combined data and split data, ways to split the data and recombine it, compare every data point, filter some data, only add data, only remove data, base data updates on non Boolean fields in the file, set end point matching based on arbitrary fields, column number matching, header matching, manipulate malformed urls and reassemble the file with proper ones, it goes the fuck on. CSV’s should just be simple and not hard to format. Why does everyone want to try so fucking hard to do bizarro shit?!

Story Time:
In the late 90s , early 2000, I remember we had our first landline (phones where a luxury on our part of the world) , with that our first 56k internet connection.
I remember vividly waiting for 14:00 (02PM) so I could connect to the internet paying only a single "pulse".
Back in my tiny remote rural village in brazil, most houses where build by brick layers people hired directly and I lots of owners worked with them to speed up the process, run plumbling and
eletricity, paint and do the floors etc, mylate father included.
Being quite handy, he also did all the wiring for the landline and the for modem.
While he was handy, he was by no means an electrician, so one bizarro side effect for the amateur wiring was that whenever someone turned on the Shower, the internet connection would go down.
And for some bizarre reason, it was only the internet connection, while the shower was turned on, the phone would work fine... some years later broadband internet got widespread and it was unnaffected by the shower.26
