Management had the idea to have a hackathon on saturday. Everybody should gather ideas what to do on this day, but top priority is to have fun.

In the end, management decided that we should work on tasks from our backlog.

Yeah... unpaid work on saturday... sounds like fun

I think I joined the wrong crowd. After the recent Hackathon, I proposed that the team that I was working with, form a company in which we continue building apps, launch and try to profit. Y'know, the whole build fast and die slow kind of thing. Granted, I proposed it late November and we're all gearing up for the holidays. Now its January and everyone has this mindset of "if we don't meet, we don't get anything done" or "discuss face to face only". Guess they don't like the idea of working remotely.

I think I might just quit this venture after a couple of meetings with them before I lose my mind.

Tell me if I'm wrong
I know android dev and the more I go deeper, the more i hate the way things are done. It felt like memorising something new everytime i had to get shit done. And if u stray even just a little u get a shitload of exceptions. My android devs were pretty much crying at the end of this 40hr hackathon(i was on backend).

At the end, i just don't like d way things are done, its just way too complicated and messy for my use case - hackathons and making things as a hobby.

So you could imagine when i started react native and saw all my problems fade away. I don't know what'll happen when i go deeper. But if you've had the good fortune of working with these things, do u think its a good switch? Will i face d same issues with react native as i do now? Thanks
