DigitalOcean. Easy to use, rebuild and destroy. DNS is a plus. However, I had problems with using the droplets at a specific location.

I recently started using AWS Lightsail as well and found it so far so good.

Which VPS would you prefer for your personal project?

Hi guys so I have a fairly simple spring boot backend with mongodb. I am starting out with this setup for my app. I dint choose something like firebase because it will lock me into their ecosystem.

My question is can initially just run my backend with Digital ocean droplet or I need dedicated hosting?
Can it be done with docker. Is it the only way?
If not digital ocean then which one? Vultr, hetzner, linode, aws lightsail?
What are the things needed. Am I missing something?

What's the most cost effective way of hosting a Lamp stack website? I have a pretty basic website with less than 50 viewers per week.

I am so confused with all the options: GCP, Amazon lightsail, Ec2, godaddy, heroku, etc.

What would you guys recommend for such a small website? Currently, I've hosted it on Ec2 for the first year but I don't think that's cost effective at all after the first year.
