Challenge for this year:
- Organise PhD work so I can spend at least some time on personal projects.

Just before coming home for Christmas I went to get files off my desktop. No luck, it wouldn't turn on.

So likely going back home to a broken desktop.

Just spent the last 3 fucking hours searching in the entirely wrong place for an issue I created somewhere else. Fuck you past me!

Started my PhD today. I feel so out of my depth, but so happy to be challenged at the same time. It's a weird combination.

Programming: The art of making logic not make sense.

I was lucky and have a mother who understands a lot of work goes into making programs work. My dad is basically a technophobe and struggles with the TV and Microwave, but would prefer me to have a job I enjoy rather than one that's going to put me in an early grave.

Pet peeve: people who photograph their computer screen to show you what's on it.

- Learn to touch type Dvorak
- Set all Qwerty keyboards to Dvorak
- Watch as no one can use your computer.

Finally got around to trying out zsh. Any tips and tweaks people find too useful to live without?

I remember while back in studies (Computer Science) we were learning binary logic and such. When the person next to me (albeit learning Business Information Systems) asks "What does binary have to do with Computers?"

The project with the worst documentation is always my own. I always come back to a project and have no idea what anything does.

Spent 2 weeks of hardly coding a project to then figure out a nice data structure that fixed all my issues and difficulties. It was definitely a good day.

So I've been down recently and unable to find the motivation to code. Today I woke up felt motivated, turned on my Desktop... then got distracted by games and wasted my day. Hope tomorrow goes better.

I feel my first rant shall be about DevRant and not being able to access cool features (avatar) due to not having enough points.
