AboutI am a web designer, web developer, and internet marketer. I have taken some classes on web design, but I am mostly self taught. I love writing code and I love helping a business improve through increasing traffic to their website.

That one dude that claimed to know it all but when asked any questions he didn't know shit.
I think we've all seen a dude like this. -
@dfox great job on the upvote/downvote system. You really thought this out. And i appreciate this level of thoughtfulness.1

Whenever you figure out an incredibly simple solution to make your code work after being frustrated by it for hours on end.3

I hate having to reverse engineer an application you built, just to understand it. All because you haven't worked on it in months.

Has anyone gotten to the point where they are just clearing their notifications because it's too much to look through?5

There have been so many times I wanted to say something funny about my code, but my Facebook/IRL friends wouldn't have gotten it.
Finally found you guys!
... this is not one of those times

Trying to work on the same project all week, but every other project decided to come in and take priority.
Thank goodness it's the weekend -
My biggest tip to new developers? Embrace your ignorance, don't be embarrassed by it. Let it inspire you to learn as much as you can, let it humble you into asking questions when you're stuck, let it prepare you to change within an industry that is anything but static. Admitting you don't know something isn't a weakness, it's an opportunity 😃6

feature request / rant: there sbkukd be no posting new rants unless you have a minimum amount of +1. Maybe it's 10, or 25. but I've noticed the vast majority of people posting repeated memes, gifs, and overall irrelevant stuff are people with 0-5 +1. they should be required to post comments and be around for a bit to understand what devrant is before clogging up the feed.8

@dfox I really wanna thank you for this wonderful app..! An amazing platform to rant, share, laugh, learn ..what not for like minded people...You are so responsive towards users that you brought 'dark side' theme in jus few days ☺17

In the middle of coding: "Too into code to document properly. Will document later."
Two weeks later:"What the actual fuck is this code doing?"2 -
A moment of silence to those working on multiple clients with multiple deadlines at the same time but still got time here.5

When you realize that the bug is happening because you copied your own code and forgot to replace some variable after you pasted it... Damn you brain! Do not copy/paste ok? Or I swear I will drink a lot on Friday....4

Anyone else put in headphones with absolutely no intention of listening to anything, just to make people less likely to bother you?14

Worst part of my job is working with developers who write unnecessarily complex and non-maintainable code.7

omg this is not what the meetings are about!!!!! keep dumbass questions to yourself until the q/a period...

I don't have a degree in CS. I've been in the field for 3 years at a professional level, and I've definitely improved my skills substantially. But I still get that lingering feeling of imposter syndrome. Any positive thoughts or tips to rid of that feeling? I perform well at my job but still feel like an outsider in the industry sometimes 😔18

Am I the only one that is zooming in on every rant that includes a photo of someone's IDE to see what they're working on?1
