So... I have to learn reactJS for work. (Their entire frontend is built upon it) but I am really struggling through my first week. I feel like I don't understand it at all. Unlike angular where I feel like I picked it up pretty quick. Any ideas?2

A job that I wanted so bad, I had went to 3 interviews in one day, plus one phone interview before this. AFTER this, I went to yet another interview. 2 weeks later I get a phone call letting me know ow that they chose the other candidate because that person apparently had more passion for programming than me.
How the fuck do you measure passion?1 -
I've sort of got this personal interest, and that is information security, but it's a frickin jungle out there. Where would you guys start?
-
You know what I fucking hate? Going to interviews with 4-5-6 different steps and then not getting the job.
The worst part about this time is that I've been to 6/7 of these... And still not gotten anything.2 -

I feel like I know typescript a lot better than JavaScript... Is that strange? 😂
I mean after studying languages like C#, I feel like JavaScript is so random, I feel like it has no structure and that I don't know how to code in JavaScript. However when I start using typescript I just feel like I can understand what I am doing on another level. I would like to learn JS more in depth, anyone that has any tips?1 -
I've been thinking about something, however I'm unsure of how to do it. If I would like to create a script that can like Instagram posts (on the website), what language would be most appropriate?
This is just plain curiosity, would be nice to know what you guys think!2 -
I am seriously getting pissed off at these so called web developers on Instagram... More often than not I stumble upon an image of vs code with some Lorem ipsum code on the screen.
Just now I saw a picture that drew my attention, so I clicked on to the profile and fuck me in the rectum from a 90 degree angle this is what I see. Visual communication does not FUCKING EQUAL WEB DEVELOPMENT.
DAMN IT, JUST FUCK OFF.15 -
Pictures like this honestly make me puke. Why does Linux users think they're better than everyone? 😂 #bringthehate21

Does anyone have any ideas how to start "learning" WordPress? It's a pretty hot area in my neck of the woods and I think it should be something that I am at least aware of 📖
Thanks guys!9 -
I know I'm only an intern. But what in the actual sideways fuck. Are clients really this stupid?! They want to push the app into the app stores a week earlier AND add MORE functionality? FUUUUUCK ME.2
-
Well... My process isn't/wasn't necessarily that refined... It sort of goes like this. "You're stupid and you know nothing." Rinse and repeat.1

I had a CS teacher last semester that openly said she was just as much a beginner as us I'm C#. Oh right, I should probably mention that the course was C#...

Last year during my HTML/CSS exam, there was a question requested that items should be displayed in the center of the screen and move outwards as you add in to them.
There were three given IDs for the divs. Left, right and main. So what I did to reduce the amount of code written(mind you this is written on paper). I just used the main class wrapped it inside a container and then did what the question was asked and achieved the same result. My teacher still gave me 0 points even though I provided a solution better than what most other students actually did. His reason was, you should've done as I said.
And yes, yes we're writing our coding exams on paper.8 -
Every morning I start visual studio code from cmd... So I wanted to make a script to open that specific folder and start it in code...
The time I spent trying to make this thing is longer than the time it would take me to start code every morning.
Guess I'm no hackerman :/9 -
One of the best times I had coding was when my friend and I were coding our very first program at University. Both of us had no prior experience with coding and really had nothing to do besides school. So we naturally became friends through coding.
Sometimes just thinking about those sorts of memories can take a great deal of stress of your shoulders, because one can think back to a simpler time. -
A couple of months ago I asked my professor about the upcoming exam, and I referenced the course from the previous semester, where they had a lecturer who actually held the course.
He was only there during that period. So as I referenced the course exam from the previous semester in because I had a question.
His response to my question was "he was a developer, I'm just a teacher. So it can't help you."
Wait, what in the actual fuck??????!!!!!!!?1 -
Not a rant but...
