When are you guys learning new things? Learning on the job doesn't do it for me, i feel incredibly bored but most positions im interested require knowledge in AWS/Azure.
I thought about quitting to spend a few months on aquiring new skills and maybe work on some open source things. Anyone done something similar?5 -
Comment in a PR to use ur little component in the 50 pages of docs because it looks better. Fine.
Write 30min after i submitted the changes that it doesn't look as good as you thought and you can go fuck yourself fr. Should have tried it before asking me to change it everywhere mf -
Would you consider compression (gzip static files) as a prepare step of the deploy stage or as a part of the build stage?
It's somewhat irrelevant but its bugging me8 -
How comes im fucking pissed at each Windows update but excited about getting updates on my Fedora machine4

Low budget companies be charging insane prices to clients and let the junior frontend dev setup a Azure cluster.. then wonder why it suddenly falls apart at the end of the project

Anyone knows some good resources about git?
I use it everyday - but only the basic add, commit, push, merge commands. I'd like to get a deeper understanding of git and of different workflows (like working with rebasing).
So if anyone has a recommendation for a book or something where everything is at one place - please let me know 😀1 -
PM talked me into comming into the office because of some subjective "culture" reason. He worked from home that day (didn't state a particular reason)
Would you be mad?9 -
Anyone freelancing even if they are very introverted?
Would love to try freelancing but i fear that me being introverted could make me seem incompetent.5 -
Theres one manager in my company which is not very technical but wants to be able to restart services so we use windows server (!) for everything.
Id rather make a whole application for restarting services (as if there probably aren't enough) just so you don't have to remember the commands if that means we can use linux for the servers4 -
I kinda hate Europe for having such strict laws about everything regarding the web. I feel like it only stops progress and benefits corporations.
Most of those laws are kinda useless anyway.8 -
I've been using Google Photos to serve images for clients E-Mail Templates since its a one time payment and I didnt want to continually pay for a server and storage.
Anyone knows if that violates any Google ToS since i use it pretty much commercially?
I couldnt find anything about that and was thinking about migrating the images to AWS7 -
Im learning Angular for my new job. You guys have any suggestions on what I can build (over the weekend) to learn as much about the Framework as possible?5

Adding features and fixing bugs in a system built with PHP 5 by a college student is something I didn't sign up for.3

Would you just leave a company if you didnt feel respected by the manager?
I work at a small start up, and i usually let those small signs of disrespect pass by, mainly because i think i am imagining it and dont wanna make a fuss about it.
But last week at our daily the manager kind of yelled at me which is upsetting me even today. I don't mind criticizm at all, but i feel like this stuff should be said in private not in a meeting with 5 other devs with which i work every day.
Would you quit? Or am I making a drama about it?3 -
Im about to create an ER Model for a Software-Tool im working on in my free time. I haven't done that in a long time, is MySQL Workbench still the right way to go? :)1

Anyone knows how to hash the OAuth 1.0 signature with RSA-SHA1 using PHP? Using only the value to be hashed and a key?1

Was having an important PowerPoint presentation and was super nervous. I practiced it about 20 times with the same hardware.
When i connected the the projector to my notebook the screen suddenly went black. The projector was now my main screen so no notes for me and had no time to fix it.
Is Windows watching and doing weird stuff on pupropse on the most inappropriate times? What the hell changed nothing in my settings since practicing1 -
So for my work i need to build an app (preferably react native) which runs completely inside a webview. Is there any sane way to get the Webview to display a simple Web App made with standard Js? Im losing my mind over it5

How much money you have to throw at hardware for Jenkins to build projects as fast as they are built locally6
-
So we started using Jenkins at work. Which is pretty cool so i wanted to watch some YouTube videos about it in my spare time.
But 99% of those videos are made by Indians and they are probably good videos but i just can't handle the accent. =/9 -
I love Docker... but i absolutely fucking hate Docker for Windows.
No matter what I fucking do after a couple of hours messing around i find the "its a known limitation on Docker for Windows..." FUCK YOU12 -
Anyone tried to develop react native with expo-cli inside of a Docker container?
I'm having trouble getting the livereload to work :/3 -
Fuck .NET and vsbuildtools
For days i've been trying to build a project on a build server without installing visual studio but this seems impossible.. the build tools dont install the required dlls and even after adding those manually from a dev Machine msbulld fails.
Fuck this3
