FINALLY! The European Comission is thinking of getting rid of daylight saving! I am so looking forward to this.

@NoMad What? Never heard of that, why would they do that?

Imo +1 at summer is not enough. It should be +6 through the year.

i am surprised to find proponents.
    first time ever.

@Haxk20 @NoMad daylight is good and improves prroductivity? Twice a year Im messed up for at least a month because of it...

Energy saving is a myth. In the past it was true nowadays not anymore.

I'm really surprised that people are so ambivalent about this topic. I always thought of daylight saving as a deprecated mechanism that is long past it's expiration date. I looked it up and it seems that many people like it for an additional hour in the evenings. Makes sense, but in my opinion the annoying side effects outweigh it.

@theKarlisK if you head to work in pitch black and come back in pitch black, isn't the day simply too short? what does that have to do with daylight saving?

Great. This thing needed to go.

Its all shit and giggles until you have to update every software that takes this into account :)

don't care much tbh. Never had issues with it. I'm just scared I might miss when the change is applied. In winter I leave in the dark and come home when it's dark again so it doesn't make much difference.

Really surprised to find people on here who support DST. Please people, you’ve been duped. The only reason DST is still a thing today has nothing to do with energy savings or productivity: studies have shown that there is no appreciable difference in energy usage (perhaps even a slight increase), but what they did find was an increase in the number of car accidents and heart attacks following a time change.

So who’s the biggest lobby for DST? The retail industry. They found people spend more money at stores while it is still light out.

This is a completely unnatural thing to do, is unhealthy, dangerous, and needs to change. Don’t let businesses control your life and sacrifice your health so that they can make more profits.

Actually, it would be even better the other way around. I mean, if daylight saving could get us rid of the EU Commission.

@Fast-Nop that would be way worse.
