On Skype.
[tldr: #muhPrivacy;]

You know, people hiring via Skype.
Gaming, seeing family or having long range relationships.

It's become a decent tool.

Then there is the Skype employee.
Opening a court case because in his work time, evaluating Skype calls - ON FUCKING OBSERVING SKYPING PEOPLE - he has to look at too much flesh (as in porn) for his salary level.
Like : the payment category states that you gotta be classed like 1,2 salary categories higher for such work.

So the first instance did not recognise the employees case, because they said its a state thing, or even higher.
Later instance evaluated the employee was right and decreed Microsoft / the NSA (whomever direct employees they are) to properly categorize their employees.
Therefore cost relatively exploded and an algorithm to detect nudity was built.
Wich is operational way earlier than Skypes TOS renewal mid 2018.
That also bans bad language and auto bans given accounts.

Talking about social credit..
in PROC (or prod, as they're known).
And btw: complaining about Google while posting Christmas gatherings on Instagram.. You get what I mean.

Honestly, I don't recall the sources. It's been a while.

I'd really appreciate a little compendium of this for historical reasons.

They will ask: what has brought us here? What is everyone an ultimate right/left/center/agnostic/religious fascist?

And we'll have it on paper. Or papyrus,.. even stone. As I don't know how far mighty people will go for their fortune.

    They'll keep the tech locked away in whatever the next civilization's equivalent to the vatican vaults is.

    How trivial would it be to implement a skype/telegram style alternative in something like, say python or go?

    And yet these companies are worth billions, why?

    @Wisecrack
    I don't see @M1sf3t reply. Its hidden or somewhat.

    Implememting such?
    I don't know but most of those do use FOSS like jitsy and alike.
    The issue at hand seems more like:
    Who is going to get through all that governmental observation rules shit.

    Yes you heard me. It's just too obvious that companies starting video & chat protocols need a critical mass for regulators to accept them.

    @electrineer
    As stated before, I do not remember the sources. Most of my rants is when I get mad at those techniques that I puke out what I had to swallow the last weeks.

    @scor

    I could probably whip out a text/audio app with a python backend, wpf front end, in maybe..a week?

    Video over the course of another week.

    And I'm the saddest sack of shit pseudo-programmer to have walked the planet since steve jobs and his black turtle neck sweater.

    These companies are only worth what they're worth on paper because of insider connections to the state security agencies and incestous relationships between e.x. the alphabet agencies and silicon valley investors.

    You dense MF.
    Did you just read what I wrote?
    Did I say that it's gonna be a hustle to put it up?

    I said it would be a hustle to FUCKING PUT ON THE SURVEILLANCE MACHINERY THAT'S FUCKING BEHIND THOSE FUCKS YOU NEED TO PUT UP FOR NOT DYING IN A CIA FUCKING PLANE CRASH ONTO YOUR CAR!
    Now flip off my board.

    @scor

    I did read what you wrote and thats what I'm replying to.

    If it's easy, the only reason people aren't doing it in sufficient numbers is because they haven't seen others set the precedent.

    If lots of others do it, guess what, now theres cause for regulations.

    Look at what the proliferation of alternative social platforms has done to drive the 'conversation' about the 'need' for online regulations.

    Also, you're anger is very endearing. I imagine you groaning like marge simpson every time homer does something stupid.

    @M1sf3t

    Oh maybe I wasn't clear. I'm not advocating for regulation, I'm only encouraging it to demonstrate the futility of the endeavor.

    What better way to destroy a system than demonstrate the absolute limits of it in the face of technological proliferation?

    Thanks for clearing up that hidden comment thing and your nicely structured arguments.
    Beware to ditch trolls as above.
    Another one I identified with comparable character is norman70688, immune to discourse or maybe just reason.

    Tired right now so having a hard time interpreting this rant but this made me think of the CIA realtime translation of Skype calls mass surveillance program! (Vault7 leaks)
