Keybinds you need (Windows):
Copy: Ctrl + c
Cut: Ctrl + x
Paste: Ctrl + v
Jump from word to word: Strg + Left arrow or right arrow
Mark text: Shift + Right arrow or Left arrow
Mark text (jump from word to word): Ctrl + Shift + Left arrow or right arrow
Quickly open task manager: Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Windows button alternative(e.g. for gaming sessions when you've disabled the windows button): Ctrl + Esc
*legend* Multitasking legend for switching quickly between programs (keep Alt key pressed to select the program you want to open by pressint Tab) Alt + Tab
Multitasking legend with a nice animation (not there for quick workflow but to manage programs, files, multidesktop): Windows + Tab
For people who have multiple desktops - If you don't have, go add two more:
Switch to next desktop: Ctrl + Windows + Right arrow

Basically: Shoutout to my dad!
My dad's not an engineer or anything. But he likes building PCs and has a bunch of tech at home.
Well, thanks to him, I had a PC very early on, and of course, I did the typical skiddie stuff it, aka "fake batch virus haha funny" and playing Minecraft.
Well, at some point, after tinkering with mods to enhance the quality of gameplay, I found the ultimate mod: Macro / Keybind Mod.
This mod allows you to bind stuff to keybinds, such as commands or chat messages, or... Macros.
This mod has a custom macro language. (Hint: This is where the fun begins)
Another mod I used was AutoSwitch. However, that mod required a "core mod" (aka library installed in a dumb way). I thought, "why do I install 2 mods to get 1 thing? dumb", and made an ugly macro with lots of nested if-elses, which perfectly emulated AutoSwitch behavior for the Minecraft version I was on.
Yup, I basically got rid of 2 jar files in my mods folder by making my own ugly macro.
The fact that I recreated something in an obscure language, having not even coded any program before, made me grow interest into actual programming languages.3 -
After using so much VIM and VIM key binds in other IDEs, a piece of me dies every time I have to code without them.

In today's edition of "things that I don't see the point of", I've been looking at Obsidian today, after hearing more than one person say that it's great for note taking. I use IA Writer sometimes, and I enjoy it, and I was kind of expecting something similar, but more geared toward notes and development type stuff. There are some nice graph-visual type things, and the ability to hyperlink notes together. It seems nice.
So after using it for an hour, I have to wonder why I wouldn't just make a private git repo full of .md files, and save myself four bucks per month? I get my "private vault", vim keybinds, and all of that good stuff without getting another application. Not trying to shit all over obsidian, I know it has fans, but am I missing something?5 -
This is influenced by my current situation but best tool: Visual Studio. Versatile and rich debugger, good language integration for what I do. Worst tool: eclipse. What the fuck is this permacrashing nightmare of an application. And what the actual fuck are these keybinds.1
