First job interview tomorrow, barely a month out of college... I'm so fucking nervous

Just found a dead pixel on the screen of my phone... Its fucking killing me, its so annoying

Not taking the time to practise or learn more languages when I first got interestes in coding

Started testing my most recent side project today... Renaming 1.1TB of movie files according to proper naming conventions over a 100Mbs network. Been running for 11hours already and not even a quarter of the way through

After waiting nearly 2 months I finally got them!

Great day so far. First I lose the project ive been working on for more than a week. Then my HDD starts singing that wonderful song everbody loves to hear

Been worrying all year that I won't find a job next year after I finish my studies im november. So I decided to study for one more year, just to learn a little more of the tech before I enter the real world.

A day after my registration went through and my studies are paid for, I get a call from a recruiter to come in for a interview. Fml

So I started a 80hour intership today at our Department of Education and this is how it went...

Boss : Design a database to show all applicants that applied for jobs at schools.

*I start thinking which tables and columns I'm going to use and start designing the database, writes out all the tables on paper*

Me : Is there a pc I should work on or should I use my laptop? And which database engine do you use?

B : No you can use your laptop. And btw we use MS Access

*Thinking wtf kind of business even governmental uses Access for their databases. But anyway, start creating the databases and relationships when my boss walks in*

B : No, what are you doing?

M : Im creating the database you asked for.

B : No, you design it on paper. Draw all the tables, draw the report and the form then you come show it to me, if I decide its good enough you can come in tomorrow and start creating it.

*Wtf kind of place is this, are you mentally retarded? You have a IT staff of 3 people, in which only the actual fulltime intern is a qualified IT professional, but when me or him tries to do some actual work, you give us shit about doing what was asked from us*

Ive been skulking on the shadows here for almost a month. Just reading everybody's rants. devRant and its community has made even the most boring days worth while. Thanks to everyone.

Me : Never actually worked on Linux before.

Also me : Tries to create, host and maintain a LAMP server.
