The lead UX person at my company wants to get rid of the focus outline in our web apps. Some other people want to change its styling to be less apparent and remove it from some places all together.
I'm trying my hardest to explain why it's there and how important it is to accessibility but I'm at the point where I just want to scream at them. -

How did you start getting clients and deal with shitty things like the client dragging things out forever.
Also, do you use a contract you found online or did you make your own? What do you think is most important to include in a contract?

Anyone here use atom? I tried switching to it from sublime, gave it a solid 2 weeks but had to give up on it. Just painfully slow, regularly taking 5-10 seconds to open a work project and let me start working on it and would continue to be slow whilst working.
Back to sublime now, so much better...21 -
Not a rant, but has anyone here had any experience developing a StyleGuide?
I'm looking at building one that could document JavaScript and AngularJS as well as CSS etc.
Having a hard time finding a generator/tool that would work.
If not I'll look into building one myself... 😬4 -
I had defined a variable earlier, 'count', that I was trying to access later on in the code. Kept getting errors that the variable didn't exist.
When I looked, I had actually named it 'cunt'.
Best typo ever, gave me a good laugh as opposed to the usual annoying typos in programming.1 -

I'm doing a website for a client that owns a typical British village pub, this is part of the brief:
"Clean, Warm, Colourful modern look with a rustic feel to compliment the internal physical attributes of the pub"

I love it when you struggle with something for like a whole day, then when you go back to it the day after and figure it out in about 30 minutes...2 -
When you only manage to find out scope for the project you're working on from people who aren't developing it instead of the product manager who tells you nothing...

Had a guy test an iOS app for me several months ago. Couple of days ago he messages me asking me if I can give him my code because and I quote...
"I'd like to create the same app"
I (as politely as possible) told him no & why.3 -
"Can't you just write 'width stop at text'"?
When discussing a grid system cell width
I think they meant it light heartedly, so it's not as bad... (And their not a dev). -
When you want a multi-monitor setup but no one else in your team does so you can't justify it to IT 😭9
