I trust machines more than humans.

Except when I'm hitting that Ctrl+S. Gotta hit it at least like 4 times before I can start believing :-P

I press it every 10 seconds even though my IDE has autosave

I've lost my faith in Ctrl+S now it's mouse for me all the way 💾

@Ezard hah, I do the same thing!

My SSD will probably die 1 year sooner because of my saving OCD...

    My life in a rant

I didn't do it... then my ex girlfriend infected me with that awful habit 😭

Lol, I always do this, even when I do music in FL Studio xD

Actually that's just like clicking on a programm multiple times till it opens. More clicking makes it faster, right?
Used to do that as a kid, lol.

I've the same habit of Ctrl + S multiple times though. Back when I worked in a media agency we had occasional blackouts for a week or so and since this day I'm autosaving every few minutes and at least twice.

And I do that even with auto-save feature on. Talk about insecurity.

Once in a while I'll ever trigger a webpage save accidentally while tabbing to the wrong window to save.

Except when i'm using Ms Office for documentation...

@Saransh vim users like to live dangerously

Yep, UI's have to be designed better, to get rid of save paranoia :)

I've come to think of it as the "umm" of typing.

Had ro replace those keys for this reason.

I don't press CTRL + S more than once consecutively. I press it once and check if the file has actually been changed in another program, then continue working. Never failed me so far.

@filthyranter Ooor press it multiple times and there's no need to check ;)
  • 2
@rangler Or press it multiple times and accidentally corrupt the file :)
  • 1
    @filthyranter Simply impossible ;)
    Why/how would it corrupt?
  • 2
Well you're right in not trusting humans, especially when they are clients or stupid users...

A habit that cost my coworker 3h of work.. I am so used to doing this subconciously, I do it even when checking packages on the db... Also forgot that the app's removal of the shortcut doesn't work, so my ocd ctrl+s compiled old package.. o.O
