Every first of a month is our most intense day because we have the most data throughput then due to lazy people we get data from. And boy will it be even more intense when something broke because we were forced to deploy a new feature the day before...

My new MacBook Pro finally arrived so I could finally install the stickers that I got back in April already. \o/8

Learned HTML with a 50ct book from a 1 €-shop. Got interested in forums and learned PHP by analyzing phpBB and Itschi (you probably don't know the latter). Learned Java through school though it was only the basics. Now I'm a full stack developer at a Norwegian company. Fully self-taught.1

I'm forced to learn Racket at University. What type of clusterfuck of a language is this?!
How come this shitty language doesn't even support floating point modulo and finding positions in a list...? Let alone those goddamn parentheses...7 -
Error reporting was flooded with failed database connection connections with me being baffled what was causing it.
Yeah, fucking network operator didn't tell us anything about maintenance work. Fuck you, too. -
New employee started this week, doesn't know anything about bash because she's a Windows user :/ She'll receive a crash course today by me (she has bash installed on Windows 10 because we require it for some of our tools).3

Our team is small but we pretty much always have fun times. Our bosses have been visiting us this week (they work in a different country) and we've been partying almost every evening, they even paid for it. Our new employee who starts officially next week was also invited. Such a great time!1

Why the hell does NOBODY, including Apple, figure out, how USB-C is supposed to work? I'm tired of shifty half-assed implementations with some having no USB 3.1 (Apple), some not supporting current DisplayPort standards (Apple, Dell) or limiting the speed to USB2.0... *GAAAAH*
Future seems to suck pretty hard.3 -
My boss keeps looking into the system log file and being scared of some totally irrelevant messages (for him). Time to introduce permissions in the control panel...1

While shopping with my mom when I was 10 (that was 10 years ago…) I found a book called 'Andy\'s HTML'. That book got me started.
Followed by Wordpress later, couldn't stand that for long and quickly went over to real PHP projects. Eventually landed on Android because of school.
Good ol' times. -
Oh great. I just DDoS'ed a service issued by the government by doing two parallel SOAP requests with a fricking 4 year old MacBook.2

Boss opens ticket, describes a generic problem with something.
Boss posts another one 15 minutes later, saying "this happens with X [which is of same type], too".
Cycle repeats. -
The stickers arrived! Hopefully I'll be able to use them on the next MacBook Pro that Apple hopefully introduces at WWDC.2

We have to use a 20 year old API that is half assed and doesn't even work right every time.
Every three months the same discussion comes up why something doesn't work that relies on that API. I have to explain the situation over and over again... And then my boss starts to give 'solutions' which we already use or are utterly stupid... >.<
In case someone is wondering: SOAP API on a Windows Server 2003 with timeouts every few minutes and XML output in a language that is not English (even the tags!).3 -
Asked someone at University whether he has an account on GitHub. He replied: 'I have a git account but that's the same.'1

Gave boss inside into JSON output for a system he never even sees or uses. Now he suggests changes to that JSON that aren't relevant nor possible...1
