I have now decided to use the following Stack for web developement.
- Kotlin with Ktor.io as REST application
- NuxtJS Universal Application
- Buefy (Bulma for Vue)
What do you think ?7
Im putting together a new stack (i do it every 8-10 months). Queue the dramatic music, its not java this time. So far i got Python Flask and maybe React but im not sure yet. Question is, what db should i use? Ill probably go for a json one, thinking about rethinkdb for now, but if anyone has a better idea, please share.16
Just got excited about maybe using rethinkDB for some new project.. 10 minutes later I stumble upon an old notification that it's shutting down.. well...1
!rant => question?
So.. What are you guys's opinions? We're not looking at millions of users, but it will have feeds, comments, connections, messages, post scopes,.. Etc. RethinkDB looks promising with the 'watchers' to get live data instantly, but it's a whole new way of query'ing and such.. It just feels like I'm wasting my time because I'm afraid that I'll reach a point in development where I'll have a situation for example like "damn.. This is impossible with angular or php.." [I've shouldn't have agreed to this project..] :D1
How do i start with rethinkdb? I read through few things seems like it is perfect fit for my use but I can't find a good guide/tutorial/something to help me get started. All I can find is plugins and stuff based on rethinkdb or made for it.
Spent yesterday writing a ghetto join algorithm thingy for rethinkDB, only realizing at 11 that night after nothing worked that reql had joins. Duh.
I feel dumb.
Here is a link to my late night code for laughs.
