Me and my team in middle of our first hackathon-
a girl who is our class topper is my team mate, trying to write some Android Code.

I am writing nodejs Api, she calls me saying there's a bug in my code,so for saving time I decided to fix that small thing on her laptop,so when I went to the backend folder to open the js file,I see no default text editor set for it. After searching,I found out she had no atom,sublime,vs etc.
I asked her - "Do you even have notepad++ ?".
She - "I have notepad,but not ++".

That day I had to edit my code in Wordpad. I am still shaking.

When I found out that one if my friends write C++ programs in Microsoft WordPad!

Forget Notepad for programming, Wordpad is where it's at.

I found a new hobby: coding in many text editors (or IDEs) at the same time, because "I want to find out which one is better" (I don't know why I'm actually doing this, but I can't stop)

Wait, it's not a new hobby ... I already did this with C++ with using atom and Visual Studio at the same time, then I installed Clion too and VS and Clion were both running along with atom ...

Just had an old coworker from a previous job send me some stuff for a php script he was having issues with.

There was too much glory in what he was trying to do: mixing php inside of jquery code, not using strict types would have prevented like 10 issues he was having on his script on another portion, mixing headers, weirdly named variables, poorly constructed, reused db connections, 0 oop or proper dependency management in his code, horrible use of sessions and cookies, O (n²) logic all over the place.

But the cake.....are y'all ready for it? It was code screenshots, not even of just the section, no, the full page, from a windows machine (to make it better he is hosting the application on an IIS server and his configuration was not properly set) but I digress, back to the cake:

He was writing his code inside of wordpad :P

I just politely told him that I was busy at the moment and happily ignored him. Dude is not a good person to begin with imo, for example, he brought the subject of homosexuality during one of our talks after he saw me talking to my bf, who just so happens to be gay, his statement was "I do not understand how there can be gay people when there are women that are so hot"

My comeback was "I do not understand how we can be heterosexual when there are some really attractive dudes out there, see how stupid your logic sounds? attractiveness is not the basis for homosexuality ye dipstick" he let it go after that, but close minded people like that are not really my cup of tea.

Microsoft have recently announced two things that are related to each other:
1. Windows 11 will be equipped with a built-in Copilot that will "see" everything the user does and store it locally (at least so they say).
2. A new PC, redesigned from ground up with AI in mind, called CoPilot+ PC, will be released in June.

I'm not sure if any of this is good news. It's disturbing enough that MS Word interfers with my work by displaying "friendly" pop ups about how Copilot can assist me. And there seems to be no way of turning the damn thing off. I don't want to use Word anymore, but at work I'm forced to use Microsoft's shitty office applications. So now I'm resorting to WordPad, which has a much cleaner interface and hasn't yet been infected with M$ Artificial Idiot CockPilot.

I'm working as a cnc operator. I've ask for some txt files, cos I wanted to write a small help to the job management. He said it's ok, but he can't gove me the files, cos there is some problem with the system, he'll have to call the IT department. When he clicked to the file, notepad popped up instead of wordpad and it messed up the outlook of the text. So when I've changed the default applicaton to all txt files to wordpad, he looked at me like I would be Mr. Robot...
