We plan to colonize Mars in the coming years, but hell we're still unable to properly air cool a bus for god sake1

First funky public app with now, a plain chat in the console (does not work on mobile then) https://gloubiboulga.now.sh

Faced with a problem, trying for days every solution, libs, tutorial and So threads. Getting desperate, reading framework source code. Reading again. Realizing it's just a configuration matter. Feeling stupid like shit2
-
Answering simple questions on Stackoverflow and gaining confidence that I have somewhat improved. Losing my mind on bugs from my shitty code just to find out the answer hours after on SO, explained in the best and simplest manner and realizing that I've actually improved only by a toe.

Found a New design pattern for family parties : wait for everyone to be busy, finding a quite spot, plugging your music to your ears, dancing alone till dawn

Working. Finding a bug. Quick-fix. New bug. New bug. New bug. Spending 1 hour looking for Quick easy solution. Getting distracted with a more complicated solution. Spending 1 hour researching. Back to problem, one more hour bruteforcing the problem. Finding it was just about a configuration problem. Fix in 5 minutes. Repeat everyday.1

Novice seeking advice, how do you indie/solo dev guys manage your time and productivity to stay clear on what to prioritize and deliver faster ?9
-
Searching dev/null on wikipedia, learning about a alt.flame, searching alt.flame on google, finding a site called nigger.mania and OP asking for a way to reach alt.flame.niggers. WTF men ?!
-
!rant how many of you work as web developers (front, back, fullstack, devops, alien, ... ) without a CS degree ? And if it's the case, do you suffer from it at work ?6
-
!rant Just found https://zeit.co/now which is awesome, but then found zeit.co. co/next which is also terribly great but THEN I found the vue js clone nuxt. Fridays are always rewarding !2

Working for friends that want to launch a start-up, providing them with what sounds like reasonable advices to me e.g 'maybe test your concept with some leads before asking me to develop the website', 'focus only on the main 2-3 features so we could launch quicker as I am solo dev on this' and 'once set, don't change everything every morning as I cannot make progress on the site if you keep asking me to code X versions of your fucking landing page (that they don't use)' and the only response I got goes like : "okay okay, BUT we've decided to do it this way, no need to test, customer will love it for sure' SURE ! But I am the only one to have a job and sleeping 3 hours to code your shit at night, while your lazy asses remain peacefully waiting for it to become 'the new Amazon' !3

Life and programming seem equivalent to me : a crazy run toward building out something from nothing, coping with unexpected bugs and senseless environments. The main difference, though, is that there is no stackoverflow for life4
-
Not exactly a tip but do you know an app for quick-testing your skills in js, for intermediate-level, but with questions that are not too complicated (not code golf, though I like that too) so one can use it when commuting for instance ?1

That second when you scan the stack trace, spot the line in error and just think to yourself "wtf just happened"

Python list / dict comprehension, one of the numerous reason I truly love python. Simple and powerful abstraction2

How the faculté of choice can be at the same time a wonderful delight as well as a freaking pain in the ass. espcially when considering JS frontend

Tonight, I realized from my own experience that Socrates was the first développer of our civilization when he said "The only thing I know is that I know nothing"

When hesitating on the difference between blocking and non-blocking, I just consider the example of a typical conversation with a customer.

Time to go to bed.
Why not trying this lib ? it's not that late, let's give it a try for an hour and then --> sleep.
Woaw what, two hours passed already ? I was just still beginning to have fun ! so frustrating. Na, I could not sleep if I'm frustrated, let's dig deeper for 30min and then, go !
shit it's been an hour already, man, go to sleep now ! ...Actually it's too late already, better not sleeping and keep digging !
In the morning : can't wake up, tonight I promise, I go sleep at nine.
In the evening : oh new angular ! could worth a quick try before sleep !1
