Why in the name of Donald Knuth did you think it was a good idea to have a 1500 line Java Method? What THE HELL WERE YOU SMOKING THE ENTIRE FILE IS OVER 3000 LINES AND HALF OF THEM ARE COMMENTED OUT!
Don't even get me started on your "unit tests" which is a massive 5000 line behemoth that randomly has massive swaths of code commented out.
And of course no solution like this would be complete with you HARD CODING EVERY F****INIG STRING IN EVERY TIME!
And it's not like you don't know how to use classes as you have several of them, every single one of which is over 500+ lines and consists of only getters and setters. LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO A MAP! REALLY WHY WOULD YOU USE 500 LINES FOR A CLASS THAT IS JUST GETTERS AND SETTERS?!
The part that really burns me about all of this though, isn't the fact that you sent it to me when I was running into a similar issue, and said "check this out it should help", what bothers me most isn't the indescribable rage I felt looking at your code, the part that really really really bothers me is that you are a veteran with over 15 years in Java development, and according to the org chart are a lead senior engineer getting paid substantially more than me, whereas I am considered a lowly mid-level developer, who isn't worth promoting to your level.
On the plus side you are now going to be featured on theDailyWTF so congrats on the notoriety.8 -
Amazing client.
Want to add parallax effect to whole website (yes I also don't understand) after everything is done and final.
After they have moved up the launch date.
After they have asked me to also do the data entry not only the development.
After I specifically asked for ssh access, PHP7+ server and then they asked me to deploy it to their shared hosting through cpanel.
After ...
After ....

@dunning-kruger If you downloaded your interview questions from a Google search. Are you really qualified to determine if someone is senior or not?

Spent ages (at least 10 minutes) trying to get svg to load using <img /> tag. Checked for browser support, checked for format of svg and how it was imported. All seemed fine.
Finally realised I had spelt src as scr...4 -
"Yeah. I don't only design, but I can also code, just like you."
"Cool, what programming language?"
"HTML and also CSS."
The reason why I can't sleep at night2 -
every day I see full stack here and there...
full stack is not only db and code, but also "every step the bit goes through " from end user's screen/input to server and back to him
whether is an app or service, end user is only an example.
it's about knowing how the language behaves, how the server interprets and replies to requests, protocols, even how to do every single configuration on the systems you are using, and in my point of view that includes hardware.
pretty much that...
I get sic when I see on a resume claiming "I'm a full stack dev" and there's nothing on it saying that the guy knows at least to change a light bulb... lol
Even worse, when I see job offers asking for "Full stack Dev, with no experience" ...
that's not possible without experience ! sorry9 -
Anyone else prefer working with git visually (i.e. Source Tree) rather than on CLI? I like seeing what's going on easily26

Was creating an interactive map through Google Maps API. The map wasn't displaying at all on the website. Spent 2 hours trying to fix. Just realized I've not given height to the map div :-/1

Wordpress gets a lot of hate around here and I totally know why(some of it's from me), but with limited staff to manage 40+ sites I do appreciate its flexibility.5

boss: wish there was a way to go back to older versions..
me: there is, it's called git, I can show you how to use it!
boss: nah we will just keep using the sync on Dreamweaver
me:....the fuck?!2 -
Why is it so hard to convice coworkers (other programmers) to use source control? Yes it's an extra step every day or so but it can be so helpful and save so much more time tracking down versions and when the bug first appeared. Also, piece of mind if your computer every gets hosed.7

Office worker casually overhears me talking to someone about PHP. About an hour later I get a call from HR about accusations of drug abuse. That's fun. PHP=/=PCP.5

When your pm forces you to push new features out too quickly and you're slowly digging yourself into a messy hell, knowing you have to one day refactor thousands of lines of code.4
