Why did the project manager get fired?
He created new issues daily.

I hate myself.

Hey I recently started working and had a few questions regarding fulfillment and sideprojects.

Although I am a game programmer now, the game we are making is not at all something I find interesting. I find myself wanting to work on some side Projects at home but its difficult to manage my time (obviously) and I cant really relax.

I do enjoy the work making the game, like, I like making the systems, I enjoy programming it, but I dislike the gameplay and the games thematics, so its a mixed bag.

I only worked there for 2 months and the game takes at least all of next year to be made. I dont want to quit, because its my first job and all and it would be stupid I dont really habe a reason to quit.

I guess I just want to hear how others are handling a situation like this

I learned c# and Unity for 4 fuckin years. Now I want to learn Electron and i just cant get it to fuckin work that motherfucker!

Installed node.js into a folder on my Desktop, git cloned the quick start app, copied the files, npm start and wow it starts.

ONCE.

It does not start anymore wtf? Also the stupid tutorials that I bought dont fuckin explain how to set it up properly wtf...

Doesnt help that im a windows noob and the guy in the tutorial is a macSnob.

Goddamnit I hate this phase of learning stuff. It fuckin sucks.

Also software development is around for like what? 30 years and electron is the best solution for GUI that people came up with? Fuck me.

Wow my job sucks right now. Un fuckin believable.
I got hired a month ago as a programmer. Everything went fine at first, then my Boss asked if I could do 3D modeling, and I could, I used Maya for 4 years, but I told him I only can do simple low poly models. A partner company of ours needed some help in their 3D department and I had to help.
Well, I thought, a small 3D project from time to time would be nice and refreshing, especially since it was very easy geometry, my Boss even showed me some previous projects and That was totally doable even for me.

So i started out making the first few models in blender, because we dont have anything else. After a day of getting used to blender i sent off the first models and it all began.

They wanted detailed, high poly models of some mechanical parts, my Boss originally told me it was just an abstract visualisation... fuck me...

Well I agreed to it so had to do it. The partnering Company started to change things, seemingly at random. Had a model completely modelled, textured and animated, now they want to change the model so I have to redo the UVs, the texture and the Animation god fucking damnit.

But still I thought ok, its only for a bit. Now my boss accepted even more work. Because of endless reworks I couldnt finish even one model and have to already make the new ones.

Now my boss is pissed because that company is pissed that i cant know what they want.

Big pile of misscommunication.
I hope this is over soon but I overheard that more is coming...

Hey guys, gameDev here, wanting to branch out to software development in my spare time. Im using C# and Visual Studio, and rarely C++.
I want to make some software in c# or C++ with a GUI, more than just CMDs. Im trying to program a project manager or something else but dont know how. Need some tips!

Currently working on an inventory system. I have main, Side, local and premium items. And I also have inventory slot lists for each type. My Lists are called:
MainSlots
SideSlots
LocalSlots
PremiumSlots.

Yo, rate my setup (i just moved and am waiting for my stuff)

Just got hired as a programmer. Still currently moving to the new city. I got a freshly installed windows PC to work with. Didnt finish some stuff on friday have to finish it today (monday) until 12 a.m. had to wake up at 4 am to get to the train so I could be at work on time (10 am). I arrived at work and turned the PC on, and now im sitting here and wait for Windows Update to finish. Its at 8% after 20 minutes.
(I actually like windows but) Man this sucks.

when Unreal Engine became free to use my Uni refused to install it repeatedly claiming that "no one wants to use it" although basically every student asked for it. I learned Unity instead. Dont get me wrong, Unity is great, but I still havent really got the hang of Unreal and I just cant find the time to dive in.
This is especially frustrating when I see alot of Unreal jobs in my viscinity.

My Boss wanted to See the Sourcecode of a Website once. So I opened it.
Boss: what Browser is this?
Me: Mozilla.
Boss: Do you have Firefox?
