Today I got fired (I work for a outsourcing company and was the client that "fired me") and the reason was that the work load was low.... funny thing is that they contested a new dev for my team and she is staying only because she is in the same office as the main team and I'm on a different office.

How fucked up is this?

Just waiting for my first Meetup, this time on PaaS systems. If I like it, my start to attend to a lot more of these in the future :)

My head solves each problem with a logic base thinking process, I tend to be awful talking in my main language but great in English, don't have patience to stupid people with stupid questions, learned that most of my friend have great ideas and think that I would love to work for free as long as I'm coding

I'm tired of this shit!!!

First I receive a task to create a new functionality for the app that I'm working on and some documentation (this is the only good part of all the rant) but no design.

It's been 2 weeks since I got assigned to this and still no design, no assets, no API calls that ACTUALLY WORK.

Today was testing a plist to get a banner link, and for 1 hour that little fucker didn't returned the image I was asking.

Better, I wasn't getting ANY IMAGE. Turns out that the link sends me to a HTML URL that doesn't have any image... go figure!

So I've been working on this from some images inside the PDF with the documentation given.

Oh! Wait! There's more!

The cherry on top is that I'm implementing a chat/voice call/video call into the app and the framework that I will be using is being created now, and it's not even finished!!!!!!

Need to implement something huge on a app that I'm working on.
The design team is not from my company.

All the design that I have is in a PDF that I can't extract the images and they are low res.

How the actual fuck do they expect me to do a good job if I don't even have the design and assets to work with

I feel like I need to change company... it's Monday, I'm 1 hour late to work and already wanting to go back home.

@dfox I would love if you guys added some flags for users use on profile showing our nationality, like "Apple, Windows or Linux". And if that's not possible, at least add some fictional flags like Portugal, U.K., Italy.

iOS vs android? And why?

I start: iOS cause I'm an iOS dev and I hate how the OS of android works (not saying that iOS is perfect)

Before rant (introduction): I'm the kind of dev that is a procrastinator by default, it takes me a huge amount of effort to avoid this bad habit.

Rant:
So, I'm going on vacation next week and finished all my shores on Monday. As I'm about to go on vacation, my team leader is avoiding giving me work so that it doesn't stay half way when I leave.
The problem is, this is the third day that I arrive at the office knowing that I will be there for 8 hours wasting my time not doing shit and looking at the screen!!!
The worst part is that if I get this bad habit going, it will stay and I will start to procrastinate a lot if I don't work to do fast

Been struggling with an issue all weekend (it had to go to client today) with no solution and without understanding why it was returning the wrong values.

Arrive this morning to the office and team leader asks me about the issue and gives me a new one with higher priority, so I decide to pass my issue to a junior I work with.

While doing so and explaining everything he should look into, by some magic powers I found the reason for the issue

Last 2 days I've been reading a crash log about a bug that no one can fix and was left to me.

I've tried everything I could without any good results.

Ready to tell my superior to GFY but that might not be a good idea.

Let's see if I can ditch this but tomorrow

After 1 week working on a screen (design, logic, testing) my boss comes to me saying that what I've been work won't be necessary any longer and I should discard it.

1 month later asks for that same stuff and I tell him (jus like he said I should do) that I discarded the code.

Starts calling me names and how useless I am (this was normal).

So I pick up my stuff and just get out while saying: "please, if you are so damn good, you can do that shit yourself, I quit!"

Was there for 1 miserable year and that was my best choice I made till today.

Right now the company closed cause all the devs ended up leaving him

Was given 2 bugs to solve and after 1 day and half someone remembers to tell me that what I'm trying to fix won't work cause the issue only happen in production an I won't be able to test it with the connection that I have...
