The only time i pulled an all nighter was during the global game jam. You have to make a game in 48 hours and there were some nice to haves that I had to implement.

In 48 hours I slept only 5 hours. The rest of the time I was mostly programming.

He wasn't the best lecturer (which he openly admitted), but he was always willing to go an extra 10 miles to help you out, including essentially writing up the entire module into a nice document (70 pages long!) so we'd have good notes to revise from

Currently developing an app with React Native for work. It started as a "would be nice to have" feature but now people wanna join my dev team and company wants to see results too. And I am just a student trainee. FeelsGoodMan

I don't have anything to say about getting a dev job in some company. But I can give some tips on attracting clients for your freelance work.

* Have a few projects of your own hosted on Github to show off your quality code.

* Contribute to others' open source projects if possible.

* Get yourself a nice website and showcase all your work.

* Ask your current clients to write testimonials on your work and post it in your website.

* Be nice to your clients. Chances are they'll refer you to their friends and family.

That's pretty much all I've done and I get more freelance dev requests than I could take.

Had a bad dream one night that my bosses were going to run me through the ringer on some stuff that I needed to do better.

A day later, exactly that happened.

It would’ve been nice if my premonition could have had a few days gap between dream and reality so I’d have had some time to fix things first.

Stakeholders must learn that code quality and a user-friendly frontend are not "nice to have". If they don't fix their priorities accordingly, someone will have to pay their technical debt and that's going to be expensive.

When I'm scrolling through my notifications, it would be nice to have them colour coded, for example, mentions could be highlighted with a slight yellow tint, and ++'s could be not highlighted at all..etc.

I was messing with my lemonbar + i3status config (with sway), when I decided to ditch i3status entirely and generate a status line using pure Awk. Battery is calculated from /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0, got workspaces (Material Design Icons) working, have a nice dated, and all colors match Solarized Dark from Vim. Have underlines, highlights etc. setup.
It's so beautiful :)

Styling can be diffucult. You have the most beautiful idea for a masterpiece layout in mind. You begin to work on it and goes from 'very nice' to complete disgust..

It all began with an advanture.

i was travelling through codeland and met all sort of nice creatures. C++ and Java were among my first encounters. C++ was geary (full of gears) and java was objected (sorry made up of objects). nice folks. was still wandering when a halous (great, a halo around) person appeared. it was the nice python.

but something was odd, really odd, .... travelling. you could not walk in here you had to fly. fly fly fly. no foot touched the land. no android they said.

or they said you have to put on a pair of shoes called kivy. the shoes fit according to no fixed rule. sometimes they worked, sometimes no. another pair of shoes called sls4. it was nice but unfortunately was only half a shoe long on each feet.

python android is still a dream, a nice binding kept ridiculously in the egg. it is yet to hatch.

I love emacs dired mode.
Nothing better than the full power of a decent text editor to edit directory content.
I know quite some multi-file-naming tools, but they are all crap compared to dired.

So, due insanely annoying youtube algo, I just wanted to listen related music to given author - not really what I usually listen to. You know the youtube drill, it's suggestion feed sucks hard.

So I kick in incognito, my typical workaround and wait a second... it prompts me to check out youtube music (didnt know its a thing) and well, well, well... It's actually pretty nice. And solves my suggestion feed problems.

Nice. I have no idea when they deployed that but it's lookin preetty nice (at first glance) and dosent use as much bandwidth. Sweet, exacly what Dubby needed.

Guys, do you know any good source to learn MVVM to android (kotlin would be nice). I know MVVM theory and practice (I used it in WPF, C#). But i have hard times understanding how it work with android. I watched reso coder, but his tutorials are even harder to understand. Thanks

Having a degree in math helpes immensely with programming. Abstract reasoning, calculation simplification, sussinct data representation, nice things to have.

Goes on vacation for 2 days.
Comes back to work and only half of my changes were merged to the test environment.
Also, the merge master decided to update my branch with the test branch.
Nice... now I have to redo most of my work.

Man i fucking love my current living situation. The people are so fucking nice here, my neighbours almost all go into the same school as me and are therefore technical versed/share the same interests. My School is super awesome due to some of the teachers, where you can learn so much. Really starting to have a passion fo programming although it takes up so much of my freetime, i nearly don't do anything else anymore but I want to learn as much as possible.

It's a super nice day even though I have to study maths all day but fuck it! That doesn't stress me!

And all it really boils down to is how you perceive problems and the like. Either you let it get to you or you don't. Now everyone have a nice day :)

So I've got this modem and I am trying to configure it, I am supposed to access to it through a web browser using its IP address. I pinged the broadcast to find the IP, but when I am trying to connect I have a nice "connection refused". So any ideas ?
