Huge congrats to @linuxxx for being the first ever member of the devRant community to reach 100,000++

This is an awesome accomplishment and @linuxxx earned all of his ++ with awesome stories and has represented everything the devRant community is about while getting there.

So once again, congrats @linuxxx, and thanks for everything you have contributed to devRant!

    @linuxxx how ironic for someone with 100k ++
  • 0
    @NCC-1701 What do you mean?
  • 2
    @linuxxx You said "I am at a loss of words."
  • 1
    @NCC-1701 Oh right, that took me way too long xD
  • 2
    I'm sorry, I actually came here to ruin the fun. I seriously don't know if and who I should congratulate here.

    Has it been a competition this whole time? I mean, I love @linuxxx rants, but congratulating for reaching 100k seems kind of... Idk... Weird? It's not that I'm not thankful for the contributions to the community, but I mean, I really hope that people are not on this platform for the ++'s? I'm certainly not.

    Instead of congratulating, I'd like to say thanks instead @linuxxx, for all the cool contributions. I love reading your content!

    @aaxa I personally don't see the upvotes as 'the upvotes' but as a way of showing someone that you like their content and presence.

    I find it very awesome to have reached this point. I'm certainly not all about the upvotes but yeah of course i like it when people show that they like my content by upvoting it.

    So yeah I'm very proud of this achievement and i think it's something worth celebrating and 'announcing' like this :)

    Anyways, thanks for your kind words!

    @aaxa
    Linuxxx deserves the congratulations. People don't care about the ++ count as a mere number. What makes it worthy of congratulations is the dedication he puts into devRant.

    I sounds like you're a bit jealous. Just so you know, you also have a high ++ count, so don't allow jealousy to consume you. :)

    @aaxa we’ve been congratulating people on significant milestones since the first month devRant was launched.

    Edit: and I certainly agree ++ are not that important, but a tradition is a tradition and it’s something we’ve always done.
  • 1
    and thats why i like the ++ method instead of "like or dislike", like the whole social media does.
  • 1
    @Michelle I think you misunderstood my intentions with my comment. I'm not jealous at all! I'm not contributing nearly as much as linuxxx, and I certainly don't deserve his ++ count.

    @dfox alright, I wasn't aware of this. I wasn't referring specifically to your post, but I saw some comments earlier about buying ++ count to unlock stuff in the avatar maker. If that's the image people are getting from the ++'s, I'd rather get rid of them being public tbh. Because, if this is going to be a platform to get fame and not do honest and original contributions, then it's just 9gag all over again (all those reposts of memes - MY EYES!!!)

    Don't get me wrong, it's not because I don't like devRant, I'm quite happy to be here and I'm just trying to be a bit critical about the views of people here. It's nothing personal against any of you at all.
  • 1
    @linuxxx That's a cool viewpoint! I like it. It's just that many people don't share this. The increase in reposted memes and some comments on recent posts seems to back this up.

    Your content is as crisp and original as it gets!
  • 8
    @aaxa I'm proud of the amount of upvotes I have though.

    And that's because i got them for being myself. Irl everyone sees me as a paranoid guy, no girls due to not participating in the world of whatsapp/fb/snap/insta, literally people not wanting to talk to me for my views on certain things...

    I thought that I'd be alone in that for about my whole life but being myself on here has made me this 'popular'. Hell, that security blog is something I've wanted to do for ages but people always advices against it. Here i actually get support for the shit i stand for!
  • 1
    @linuxxx Of course you should be proud! As I said, it's nothing personal, it's just a bad feeling I get of the direction the devRant community is going (you're not one the people taking it in a "wrong" direction, quite the opposite)

    So much ++, wow

    I feel happy to be a part of his road to int overflow
