if people are curious of the PTSD baggage i'm carrying and why i rage so much at everything, see attached picture

granted, this was partly my fault, as i said, i was far too nice, and stayed for far too long

also note this job was AFTER a 2+ previous e-commerce job with ultimately failed project and little pay

UG i mean LOOK at this... i could go on and on for hours "push notifications must run" - yeah a casual bullet point that needs to be finished by end of day? hahahaha

That cannot be a real mail ! right ? RIGHT ?

How many weeks did that release take after all?
  • 3
Well, I'll be done in N days, with or without your support, given the task list you sent me.

Unless you sent me a TARDIS and the doctor.

I don't see the problem. Just redesign and reimplement half the app by the end of the day. Can't be that hard, can it

@NoToJavaScript that's as legit as it could ever be.

I see such emails on a weekly basis, after working for 4 years in this company and explaining every week that fresh ideas are nice, but time management should be left to us.

Cause yeah... Most of the time it's completely bonkers ... Bonkers or "sure we could make the company go bankrupt in a day, but please only when I'm on vacation."

You should hire a translator for a day

First thing I do is cockblock wannabe managers from pushing their asinine deadlines on me, and instead make it clear that I will be the one setting them up according to their request. Otherwise you get completely clueless dumb fucks like the one in the email.

That's the goal for today? And it must be done by one person? I say point a middle finger at him and quit your job..

That clown can go ahead and try to hire someone who would do it.

@electrineer i think i got it done by the end of the week, this was sent on like a tuesday or wednesday

i anyway promptly responded "this will NOT be done by end of day, so much other stuff not even in this email that would also need to be done etc etc"

tried to make the 🤡🤡s learn valid expectations over time, but they never did

that's why i'm not there anymore

Why are you getting requirements over email? And why are they a one line thing?

If it isn't a task with description and acceptance criteria I will not touch it, I'm not wasting time to end up finding: But we wanted it in a different way ...etc.

    the email/communication/example/notion/words provided are highly offensive/unpleasant/producing sorrow/rage and shouldn't exist/be expressed commonly. mindset that produces/conceives notion/--x-- should therefore be exterminated/destroyed. I/we empathize/feel for you. Managers/crooks should not exist/get jobs/succeed/be appreciated/be able to advance/get raises. You/we/programmers/engineers are ready/not ready to execute/bring to life that.

@gitpush that's an excellent question. i invite you to ask the 🤡🤡s yourself

however, i warn you, your sanity may quickly be in jeopardy afterwards

@gitpush misses alternative/different approaches/management styles/relationships that depend on organizational structure/number of people/engineers/nature of the business. declarative/one-line task descriptions may not scale but be beneficial/optimal/elegant/efficient at early stages in startups/companies and ever at small/low people count startups.

Tell them to hire an Airbnb developer instead.

@fullstackcircus Thanks I will pass on this one, I want to remain calm lol

I understand some of the complains you did, but stealing a concept from a bigger app is actually a best practice.

I fail to perceive the issue. Simply restructure and redevelop fifty percent of the application by day's end. It couldn't possibly be excessively challenging, could it?
  • 4
@williamwill009 I don't perceive your issue here. Simply fuck 100% off with your essay service spam. It shouldn't be excessively challenging, right?
