Some days ago I finished "Ray tracing in a weekend" (Peter Shirley) and I'm learning a lot :D
In the new year I will start with "Ray tracing the next week", but there are still some things I want to tackle before that (improve code quality, optimize... it's my first project that is bigger than a codeforces problem solution, a part from the projects at work).
Any sources of wisdom and recommendations are welcome!!9 -
After solving a lot of problems in codeforces and participating in ACM to make my code the most optimised..
* In my first real job. *
Client: Your program run so fast!! I can't feel if it's doing something or not. Please make a delay of 1 second in your program! 😇

Competed in my first Competitive Coding contest on Codeforces. I could barely solve 1 question, and even in that I couldn’t got error in some pretexts. Still I was satisfied that I got the algorithm right.
But how the fuck are the top coders reading the problem and submitting the solution within 3 minutes !2 -
Sir i am a newbie student to CP. I have recently started CP and just know array , strings , loops , function and basic libraries along with logic.
Where and what roadmap shall i follow so that i can get rated nicely and quickly on codeforces?
(Currently about 700 rating).7 -
Started with Codeforces. Some solutions in Python exceeded time limit at test #25. Wrote the same code in C++ but this time it exceeded time limit in test #33.
What’s the solution to this ? Replacing cin/cout with scanf/printf doesn’t seem to make much of a difference.6 -
I came across this code snippet on Quora, and I tried crashing the Codeforces server (strictly for educational purposes). But this thing wouldn’t compile, either because fork() was not declared in the scope, or the file <unistd.h> was not found. I tried it on different C++ machines. What is the fix for this ?6

So for a question on Codeforces, I got the basic logic right, but for one particular test case, the input is a huge number of 250 digits. But the most unsigned long long int can handle is 19 digits. So I used double instead of int, but that makes me lose precision. And I also cannot use the % operator (modulo) which is int only. How do I get around this ?2

In my current job, I feel like I'm not learning much as it like I'm stuck. I also want to work at Google, which has been a childhood dream of mine. Additionally, my upper management promote on using GPT to write code which I feel like it's not a good thing as a younger professional seems like my development skills is depricated. The worst part is that I'm unable to allocate time to learn new things on my own. I want to leave this job to focus on practicing my development skills through popular open-source projects, and by doing LeetCode and Codeforces. However, I'm afraid to take decision because of the current tech job market.
To all senior developers and engineers, I would appreciate your valuable advice. Please help me as if I were your younger brother!
Any advice appriceated.14
