Got handed a CentOS 7 cluster, previous admin made kernel command line changes in grub.cfg instead of default/grub.

Linux hates me. Been trying to install Mint for hours, just keeps getting stuck on installing grub2 packages...

I'm proof that deadlines motivate. Ruined the grub2 installation on my Ubuntu install and told myself I'd have it fixed in an hour or less. It's fixed now with 3 minutes to go 😅

fuck you for the efi partition containing a search for the fucking boot/efi partition by uuid
fuck my host system for taking a cloned drive and fucking around because it couldn't tell which drive the uuid was emanating from

fuck them using entries files with linux options specifying the uuid of the root partition which ALSO now must have a subvol parameter supplied to a rootoptions parameter to find the fucking root drive

fuck them for making it look like the fucking software is smarter than it seems.

and fuck them for not creating some kind of autoprobe fucking utility added to teh initial boot drive which is smart enough to load a stub of grub2 and then pull in teh rest of the slice partitions it shouldn't be using in the first place

and fuck you fedora for using btrfs in the first place and mounting a different partition for linux images and yet another under /boot/efi

and fuck you virtualbox for not producing teh shit the kernel finds IMMEDIATELY once in rescue mode !!!

Bought myself a new graphics card as my old one died. After i got my system runnning again ( Linux Mint 17), by fixing the video drivers i concluded that i may want to get into gaming again.
I have a free Windows 10 Pro licence lying around so lets try to get dual boot running.
Hmm seems like i cant install windows after linux without installing grub2 again through a recovery disc. Well okay wanted to try out mint 19 anyway.

Downloaded both Isos. Linux mint is 1,5Gb and Windows 10 is 4,3Gb. MS what are you doing ?!
Only have a 4GB USB-Drive and dont want to buy a new one. GOD FUCKING DAMNIT MICROSOFT.
So at a forum i found a software to remove packages from windows isos and now i'm sitting here removing windows bloatware for 4 FUCKING HOURS, JUST TO INSTALL WINDOWS.

Ofc that tool was only windows specific so i had to install windows in a vm first.
Fucking tired of this shit.

So it's been almost a whole day and I've still not managed to Install Arch with LUKS/LVM and grub2. Time to give up? Yes.
