So work this morning has been fun, we got an email from some about a change in their company and they CCd about 360 people in so you could see the emails (GDPR and all that) and then a help desk on one of the recipients picked it up, sent out an auto response to everyone, then another auto response from someone else went out and you can see where it went from there... About 100 emails later they sent out an email asking people to not reply to the previous email and are working with the companies to get the auto responders turned off

Life lesson today: check your emails before sending them!

That moment you find out someone paid a lot of money to get a site made with WIX.... It hurts to know how much they paid for it

Got more stickers for my laptop finally!

God I hate people...

Was asked to change a few things on one of our websites including shortening a sliders height to give more room for stuff of the page, I did this and now they are complaining about the images being cut off at the bottom. No fucking shit! You wanted it shorter!

So TrustPilot just sent me their GDPR email... In French... I don't read French....

Ok, im happy with how my desktop on my laptop is looking now

Welp. I get into work to find there was a powercut at the weekend and 2 pc dead... I just moved the power plug on one and magically it starts. then when trying to boot the other one in safemode that suddenly starts working! There are times I just dont get computers or why they do the things they do....

I finally have a place for my stickers now! Thanks Dfox and team for them!

I wanted to use linux, I really did but if I cant get it installed by the end of today im just going to reinstall windows on my new laptop...

Linux hates me. Been trying to install Mint for hours, just keeps getting stuck on installing grub2 packages...

I got VB script blocked from all the computes in high school

I had a laptop to do my work in class on (my handwriting is terrible, dyslexia and other things) and I was playing around with VB script making a little text adventure game with dialog boxes because I was bored, it got quite long and I was happy with it but then one day when I tried to open the file it said the network administrator had blocked this type of file from being opened... Spoilsports

So the bus I get into work has been cancelled and my office manager said I could have the day off but I had some important stuff he needed me to finish so I remembered I had TeamViewer installed on my work machine so I'm going to be working from home today

So for those of you that remember my fax machine post I have an update!

We where still getting people calling up and making the fax machine ring but Amazon delivered a new fax machine today and it seems to all be working now, no more ringing fax machine!!!

So my day started well.

I come in an the DVR monitor is not working, ok lets turn it off and on, nope. Lets turn the DVR on and off, nope still nothing. Played around with the VGA cable, nope. I cant replace the cable because its hard wired into the monitor....

I grab the spare screen next to me and connect it all up and it works!

Boss tells me to throw "broken" monitor out, I say I want to test it just to make sure, connect it all up to my pc and now it fucking works!

There are days I hate technology....

So last Friday I orders my new camera (Canon EOS 1300D) from Amazon with prime NEXT day delivery
It didn't turn up Saturday even tho I got told it would but I got £20 credit from them for their fuck up.
I was told it would be delivered early the next say (Sunday) and by 3pm it was still not there... Got another £5 from them for their fulse promises.
It arrived later that night at 6:30pm

So yesterday I ordered a tripod using my credit and next day delivery for today and im just wondering of it will arrive or not.

Weird thing is, The reason it was not delivered was because of "network problems"...

I have been in work 25 minutes before my colleague asks me to help him save and email a file to someone, AGAIN. I have showed them so many times how to do it but they keep losing the file (saving it to the local disk rather than network so they cant find it then forgot how to export the file as a PDF)

Fuck focused inbox on outlook. Who thought it was a good idea? Why dose every company think they should put algorithms on everything to decide what we want to see? I want all my emails not just want outlook thinks I want to see.... Im glad I switched to Thunderbird and only have to deal with it when my colleagues emails go "missing"

The fax machine in our office (yes we still have a fax machine....) Has rung 4 times today! Why are people calling the bloody fax machine?!
