The temper glad protector on my OP6 decided to suddenly fresco and fall off. It's a bit weird thought... There's no sticky feeling under that area....

OMFG!!!! THIS WAS THE SMOOTHEST OP6 UPGRADE EVER!!!

Just had to do everything in the right order... Though still ended up having up everything...

So the last two weeks Ive been trying to flash lineageOS on my new OnePlus6. Ive done multiple phones with custom roms without issue, but the new A/B partitioning makes it a lot more impossible.

I followed LineageOS their official guide for the phone twice and also suggestions from both OP subreddit as LineageOS subreddit.

After every fail I end up with a black screen and a blue LED, both when booting the OS and when booting TWRP from fastboot. Then Im doing a factory reset through a windows only tool and start over.

Im getting pretty frustrated, to a level I am almost saying FUCK it I will use google, since my current phone only works while connected to a charger. Since I really hate google I hope any of you can give a suggestion of flashing my phone.

I have a buying problem tho.... Just bought an OP6 this morning and rationalized it by saying I need a new camera and my monthly maintenance is $500 anyway so...

VR porn sucks... So does Daydream...

3hrs of factory resets basically and finally got OP6 rooted but not TWRP...

Had to restore the stock recovery and apparently all it does is factory reset...

Had to root and reinstall everything again....

So I hit my OPO back since my bro didn't want it.

And I just finished flashing Lineage 15.1 so basically it runs a better version of Android 8.1 than my OP6.

And right now, it is fcking smooth and fast...

Hmm... OP6 is coming out...

I bought an OP1 3.5yrs ago for $350 and it still works pretty well with LineageOS...

So right now the amortized cost is $100/yr...

New one seems to be $500 but the only reason I want the new one is the camera...

The other options I can think of is Samsung or Google, are there any others... that can be bought in the US?

Has anyone else found that not all USB C inputs are the same? You can't just buy an cable and expect it to plug into any socket.

1. I replaced the cable for a power pack, but the new one didn't fit my OP6 socket well, no clicking and have to push it in very hard to get it to charge, and still eat to fall out
2. The pixel 2 cable fits it nicely and all cables are ready to plugin and work
3. I tried charging my new Pixel 4a with ur though but very hard to plug in. Had to install the charger and cable that came with.
4. Amazon Fire takes all of them nicely and send all the others can use the cable that came with it too

Fuck Google... Live Captions stopped working on the Pixel 4a 5g I bought.... Just so I could use it...

Works fine on my rooted OP6 that I forced installed it on...

Whenever I update OxygenOS on my OP6 I try installing ther latest unofficial Lineage...

And if it fails... I install the full OTA ROM from fastboot.

Lineage failed... :(

I just bought a Pixel 2 so I can have live captions...

Apparently it has Android 10 support as well...

Why didn't I think of this earlier.... Though apparently support was only added in December. But just $100... And well I had a 60$ gift card balance left so that can't out to $40. (And it's only a 3yr old phone... Amazing how fast prices drop)

Actually I ordered a 3a first but then found out pixel 2 can do it as well... but now I'll have 3 phones...

So I went thru all this trouble today just so I could get Live Captions on my OP6...

HELP!!! I fucked up my OP6 again trying to install Lineage 17.1.

I was running Oxygen Pie and folloqed steps .. Flashed Lineage Recovery 20200609

And then the rom but just boots into Fastboot now.

I'm guessing it's bc I didn't first install Oxygen 10 and upgrade the firmware?

Not though I'm trying to sideload the zip but it keeps stopping at Signature Verification failed.... Even though I said override...

The OP6 camera app is actually good?

Just went through the latest batch of photos I took. I used the default Camera app for half (no RAWs) and OpenCamera for the other.

They were on different days and weather but I just went thru the Camera JPGs and couldn't find any that I would want to mentally correct...
