Search - "flashing"
My super power is, I can find the genuine download button out of millions flashing on the screen.17
First Helpdesk call of the day:
"My PC has been stuck on the same thing for an hour now. Its completely crashed."
"Does pressing ctrl alt delete do anything?"
"Where's that button?"
"Its 3 buttons - ctrl in the bottom left, alt beside the spacebar and delete over near the arrow keys. Press them all at the same time. Does it do anything?"
"Okay then, you need to manually power off the laptop then."
"How do i do that?"
"Hold down the power button"
"....on your laptop?! It's how you turn it on in the mornings?"
*60 seconds go by* "oh i see it. Ok i pressed it! Its Flashing blue now."
"Oh, no, just hold it down until everything goes black."
"The power button?"
"But that would turn off the entire PC?"
"Why do i have to do that?"
God help me if this is how my day is going to be 😢12
Height of work pressure:
⚠ I was flashing my ID card instead of unlocking the house door with the keys.
⚠Me and my friends went out for dinner in one of the best restaurants and as I finished, I started walking towards the wash basin with plates in my hand.
⚠I don't login to facebook, youtube, etc.. at my personal internet connection at home... thinking it will be blocked anyway. Till I realized that, I was at home.
⚠Once after talking to one of my friends I ended the conversation saying, "Ok bye... in case of any issues will call you back"
⚠Once I went to a pharmacy and asked for a tab. Pharmacist asked whether I want 250mg or 500mg? I replied 256mb. Thank god he didn't notice.
⚠After a hectic week, went to a movie. In the middle of the movie, when I wanted to check the time, I kept repeatedly glancing at the bottom right corner of the Theatre Screen.
😄So avoid working so hard !😄
Have a great work-life balance.
⚠Extreme Work Pressure:
An employee opens his lunch box on the road side to see, whether he is going to office, or coming back from office.😂😂..1
Hooray for open source!
So my mother's Model M died. I didn't think that was possible but it looks like even the best ones have to die eventually.
I was one click away from ordering a replacement controller board for around the same price I had bought the keyboard for, when I duck-duck-went one last time for a service manual. Because maybe there was a error code table and maybe that flashing num lock light would tell me something about the defect. Then, I could investigate further and maybe repair the keyboard. I didn't find one.
What I did find was someone who made a USB controller board back in 2008, documented it well and published everything. It fit my Model M and I had all the parts at hand so I could fire up printer, etching bath, drill and soldering station and make that thing.
Now there's a working Model M on my table just because a guy named Ronald Schaten thought of future people having the same problem as he had.
Be like Ronald. How specific your issue might be, someone /will/ have the exact same one. Document and publish your solutions!9
In my college days i was designing a bootloader for avr microcontroller , i had the idea to flash code wirelessly to avr over bluetooth and also cross compile the compiler for android device so that you can code on android, every thing went well just one thing didn't, i saw that code of certain size is executing properly , greater than that size gives me wired outputs so i have to dump hex from the avr (that is flashed the by bootloader) and compaire it with the original hex of code it got messy as you can see, most fun part of this bug is that error can be anywhere cross compiler may be fucked up , the bootloader may be fucked up , or it may be my bluetooth module , after 14 hours of staring at the hex code i figured out the mess in bootloader instruction that was changing the page address for flashing .
when it worked it was 3am in night i literally burst into tears of joy next day bought myself a cake to celebrate8
//Tech Support in the family, mom fail.
(Me on my mom's windows 7 laptop coding a game extremely frustrated with scalability problems).
Mom (walks in) : Son! Today I was using my laptop and the screen suddenly started to flash like crazy! I was afraid it would explode!
Me (wtf reaction) : Ah? Hmm, what were you doing? Were you charging it? (and many other questions)
Mom: I was typing and it suddenly started flashing! And it's not the first time! Is my laptop going into problems because you are filling it up with your unnecessary videos and stuff? (referring to my dev courses)
Me (I know my mom) : Sounds weird, I'm 100% sure the screen didn't do anything of what you said and everything is pretty normal, I'll try looking up the problem on google tho. And mom, how many times do I have to tell you few GBs of files won't destroy your 8 years old laptop?
Mom (leaving) : Please find a solution, I need it tomorrow!
I was pretty sure there's no problem, so I went back to Unity and started fucking my brain again. After an hour or so, I wanted to import an asset from my Desktop, instead of importing it inside Unity, I hovered over the Show Desktop icon on the taskbar to click it. When the mouse was over the icon, I immediately facepalmed, with mixed up emotions, between sad and willing to laugh out loud. My mom came back and sat behind me, I started the conversation with a fucked up face, then said : Mom, not again...
Mom : What are you talking about?
Me : The problem with the screen flashing...
Mom : Oh! Did you fix it or is my laptop going to die?
Me : Hovers mouse over the Show Desktop icon.
Mom (screams weirdly) : Ah! It's flashing again! What is happening?! An electrical problem?!
After laughing outrageously, I introduced her to the Show Desktop futuristic feature. She then started to laugh too xD
Being the Tech Support guy in the family can be so funny sometimes xD10
The Sound of Typing (an original dev parody of "The Sound of Silence")
Hello caffeine, my old friend
I've come to sip on you again
Because my mind continues sleeping
While overpiled work is creeping
And the deadline that is flashing upon my screen
Can't be unseen
Within the sound of typing
Down the lines of buggy code
I quickly switch to debug mode
What kind of moron wrote this function?
For this unnecessary junction?
Wrapped in a condition that will always return true
I need a brew
To forget the sound of typing
Boss said I you do not know
WordPress like a cancer grows
A one page website doesn't need that
Still I wear my debug hard hat
And when I sleep I still see the same terror
Echoed in the sounds of typing
And every time I leave my home
I must launch chrome on my phone
The constant messages and phone calls
The chiming echoes through the halls
While I frantically fix some FooBar'd CSS
BUT I don't have LESS
Deep in the sounds of typing
And when I think I have it done
Some scope creep ruins all my fun
So now I force through an all-nighter
While I forge on like a fighter
But the project I thought was due on next Friday
Changed to Monday
Within the sound of typing12
I used to buy routers and see if they were dd-wrt flashable afterwards.
Just bought a router based on flashability.
Flashing dd-wrt now so that I don't have any proprietary bullshit onto the device with controls my Internet 😍
Yay for open sourceness!
Now I just hope that the flashing won't fail 😅22
We have a customer that runs an extremely strict security program, which disallows any type of outside connection to their servers.
In order to even correspond with them via email you must undergo background checks and be validated. Then you sign an NDA and another "secrecy level" contract.
Today they had a problem, I was the one assigned to fix it. I asked for a screenshot.
We already use an encrypted mail service, which runs via a special VPN that has enough layers of protection to slow down a photon to the speed of a snail.
The customer's sysadmin encrypted the screenshot and sent it to me.
I open the screenshot and....
He runs Windows 10, uses Google Chrome and has Facebook's WhatsApp desktop app flashing orange in the tray.
Long ago, like 5 years, I made an app for my EX GF in symbion to track her periods. Application predict the next date when your period will come based on her cycle.
How ever after 2 month of usage she told me that application was flashing that she is pregnant. She scared shit out of herself and made me sacred a hell as well.
Later i find out that the variable i used to store number of days between last period and current date was not capable of storing value more than 40, i don't know how, and triggers negative value to be shown.
Early days of my programming, Shit happens.10
Bought a second hand phone because my current one drains too fast (battery).
Flashing through the recovery doesn't work, I need Odin.
Only windows installation I have left (spare laptop I hardly use) crashes every time I boot up.
Linux version of an alternative is downloadable but the site gives a shit ton of errors.
Well fuck me sideways right now.26

So this happened a few days ago. I always want to root my smartphones for that little bit more control.
*Put's new smartphone into fastboot mode*
*Tries to flash root zip onto it*
"You have to OEM unlock the bootloader first"
*OEM unlocks the bootloader*
*Tries to flash but fails*
*Tries to reboot*
Phone: "The bootloader has been tampered with, the device will boot in 5 seconds".
*Screen just hangs there for ages*
*Tries to enter fastboot again to OEM re-lock the bootloader*
*Fastboot appears to startup RIGHT AFTER THE FUCKING ERROR MESSAGE so can't boot into that anymore*.
Hmm... TWRP is still installed...
*Tries to flash some stuff through TWRP*
"The zip file you are trying to flash is corrupt".
FUCK MY FUCKING LIFE.
*Connects phone to Linux for adb flashing*
*Nothing happens after half an hour of trying*
*Connects phone to ancient windows 7 laptop*
*Laptop doesn't even RECOGNISE the phone although all drivers are installed*.
*Le me about to completely lose my fucking mind*
*Connects phone desperately with Linux again*
*Phone is recognised right away but the SPL flash tool can't detect it*
*Tries to put it into fastboot again*
*Fails for about an hour*
*phone in charging mode again*
*Presses the power button for a last, desperate attempt*
*SPL flash suddenly recognises the phone*
*Android boots again like nothing happened*
I can use it again like normal but the No-Root firewall is draining my battery like crazy.
That was one hell of a journey though!11
Has anybody noticed some people's undying obsession with making their 2018 websites look like they're from 2001? Some of our clients INSIST on using site entry pop-ups, scrolling marquee text, and as many flashing buttons as possible on their sites. These are the type of people who think: "The number of buttons on my website directly correlates to the amount of money my site makes me. I want 12 buttons, all worded slightly differently, that all link to the same exact page. This will sell more of my product. From all of my experience in UX, I am positive that users will respond to a flashing neon colored button labeled "SAVE NOW!!!!!" Nevermind that your company employs professional UX Engineers. I know more than them."7
So… Privacy people! This is amazing!
It's a lineageOS fork that runs completely without google services, and still enables you to use GPS, pushup and other things without issues. It's really just as simple as flashing it and you're ready to go :D12
Oh fucking Huawei.
- Honor 6x (BLN-L22C675)
- Has EMUI4.1 Marshmallow
- Cousin brother 'A' (has bricking XP!)
- Uncle 'K'
- Has Mac with Windows VM
- Stock as LineageOS / AOSP
Procedure (fucking seriously):
- Find XDA link to root H6X
- Go to Huawei page and fill out form
- Receive and use bootloader code
- Find latest TWRP
- Flash latest TWRP
- TWRP not working? Bootloops
- XDA search "H6X boot to recovery"
- Find and try modded TWRP
- TWRP fails, no bootloop
- Find & flash TWRP 3.1.0
- Yay! TWRP works
- Find and download LineageOS and SuperSU
- Flash via TWRP
- Yay! Success.
- Attempt boot
- Boot fails. No idea why
- Go back to TWRP
- TWRP gives shitload of errors
"cannot mount /data, storage etc."
- Feel fucked up
- Notice that userdata partition exists,
but FSTAB doesn't take
- Remembers SuperSU modded boot
image and FSTABS!
- Fuck SuperSU
- Attempt to mod boot image
- Doesn't work (modded successfully
but no change)
- Discover Huawei DLOAD
Installer for "UPDATE.APP" OTAs
Note: Each full OTA is 2+ GB zipped
- Find, download, fail on 4+ OTAs
- Discover "UPDATE.APP Extractor"
Runs on Windows
Note: UPDATE.APP custom format
Different per H6X model
- Uses 'K''s VM to test
- My H6X model does not have
a predefined format
- Process to get format requires
TWRP, which is not working
- FAIL HERE
- Discover "Firmware Finder"
Windows app to find Huawei
- Tries 'K''s VM
- Fails with 1 OTA
- Downloads another firmware ZIP
- Unzips and tries to use OTA
- Boots successfully?!
- Seems to have EMUI 5.0 Nougat
- Downloads, flashes TWRP
- TWRP not working AGAIN?
- Go back to XDA page
- Find that TWRP on EMUI 5 - NO
- Find rollbacks for EMUI5 -> EMUI4
- Test, fail 2-4 times (Massive OTAs)
- DLOAD accepts this one?!!!
- I HAVE ORIG AGAIN!!!
- Re-unlock and reflash TWRP
- Realise that ROMs aren't working on
EMUI 4.1; Find TWRPs for EMUI5
- Find and fail with 2-3 OTAs
Note: Had removed old OTAs for
space on Chromebook (32GB)
- In anger, flash one with TWRP
instead of DLOAD (which checks
- Works! Same wasn't working with
- Find and flash a custom TWRP
as old one still exists (not wiped in
- Try flashing LineageOS
- LineageOS stuck in boot
- Try flashing AOSP
- Try flashing Resurruction Remix
- Realise that need stock EMUI5
- Realise that the firmware I installed
wasn't for my device so not working
- FUCK NO MORE LARGE DLs
- Try another custom TWRP
- Begin getting '/cust mounting' errs
- Try reflashing EMUI5 with TWRP
- Doesn't work
- Try DLOADing EMUI5
- Like before, incompatability
- DLOAD EMUI4
- Reunlock and reflash TWRP
- WRITE THIS AS A BREAK
There is nothing better then getting new phone and first thing you do when you came back is flashing custom ROM on it.
8.1 android on 2013 device ouuuuuuu yeahhhhh.12
First we had this stupid Hoverboards.
Now we have god damn fidget spinners. Every Idiot got one.
Now there's fucking Fidgets Spinners with LED.
Will the next fucking Cancer be a IDE with RGB flashing Code, animations and this shit is coming form coding Noob Hipsters and script Kiddies, who wanna be cool???
Kid from the future: Yo Bro lets configure our LED Fidget Spinner with this premade software and call it coding. We will be cool hackers.13
Finally got around to flashing Lineage on my S5.
So smooth and no Samsung bloat! (and blob emojis)
Just did a transplant on my friend's phone. He dropped it one too many times, and fucked it up real bad.
We were first going to simply put his SIM card into another phone. I had an old S6 that bricked itself during an update before I really knew much of anything about phones, so I dug it out and spent a day trying to restore it with heimdall, adb/fastboot, and eventually odin when I found a laptop with windows. Unfortunately it's a Verizon phone, and because Verizon likes to keep a tight chastity belt on everything, it was pretty much impossible to unbrick. After giving up with finding a custom recovery or flashing a stock ROM, we moved to Plan B.
We took both phones apart, switched the boards, switched the SIMs, and he now has a working phone in much better condition than before he dropped it seven feet from his girlfriend's bunk.
It's always fun to make life from two dead things.3
TL:DR; DON'T GET INTEL+NVIDIA LAPTOP FOR LINUX.
In the same vain as Linus Torvalds: "Fuck Nvidia, and Intel".
Trying to get intel+nvidia laptop prime w/e working is a living hell.
I'm running Manjaro(arch for lazy people) with I3-gaps(larbs).
So Manjaro provides this handy script/program mhwd that supposedly would enable the non free blob Nvidia driver except it doesn't work cause it uses bumblebee and it's saying it can't find the clearly installed fucking Nvidia driver.
Bashing my head against a wall is more fucking productive then getting my cum stain of laptop to work properly.
"Just disable the intel graphics in bios"
I would except my old shitty Acer bios piece of fucking crap can't even after booting Windows for usb hdd and flashing BIOS.
GUESS WHAT LINUX COMMUNITY THAT'S WHY NOBODY WANTS TO FREAKING USE LINUX FOR GAMING.
I fucking love Linux but I gave up gaming for it.
I'll start joining red team from now on instead of trying to use your broken shit.24
So I was flashing a new ROM a month ago. I noticed that /data was formatted to f2fs and newer kernels did not like this file system that much. I had nothing to lose as I was going to wipe my /data partition anyway (you know, clean flash). Formatted it to proper ext4, flashed my stuff, rebooted.
As expected, all of my apps were missing. Nothing unusual, and I’ve made a TitaniumBackup before. So i install TiBu, search for my backup and am still happy. Only that I can’t find my backup. In fact, my entire internal storage (/sdcard, just for the record) looked quite empty. No photos. No downloads. Nothing. I start panicking. Why did /sdcard get wiped when i format /data? This normally does not happen.
Took me a while to figure this out.
data and sdcard get mounted in the root, thus show up as /data and /sdcard, right? Well jokes on you. sdcard gets mounted in /data/media. /sdcard is in fact only a symlink to /data/media. Every time I thought I was wiping /data, I actually rm -rf’ed everything in /data except for /data/media. But when I format /data, /data/media gets deleted, too. Fuck.
I’m gonna punch the one who thought it would be a good idea to create a pseudo-directory structure but actually mount everything in one place.1
Any nexus 6p users are out there? I'm thinking of flashing a new rom because the performance is taking a big hit and battery life is becoming abysmal. Any recommendations for this particular phone?27
I have a cheap crappy drone and while not using it I hang it on the smoke detector. Neither the drone or the smoke alarm have batteries.
I glance up and see a light flashing, freak out, shoot the drone...lights still flashing and I realize it's the smoke detector. Fuck that, there's no batteries. I shoot the smoke alarm and it explodes...battery lands at my feet still intact...
...the alarm is dead, the drone is crying, the toaster is laughing and I can't figure out why the fuck I shot my drone and smoke detector but the toaster doesn't phase me.
(Some of this is actually true)3
Me: Hmm... My Android phone has been acting strange lately, cell signal keeps dropping... Maybe I picked up a virus... let's flash the latest update.
Phone: Updating Done
Me: Hm... signal is still bad... maybe it's hardware... *Angry*
Phone: By the way you lost root
Me: @#$%$&&$%^#$!#$@$%$#%^ OK LETS SEE, SUPERSU, REINSTALL THE BINARIES... YES!!!
Phone: Reinstalling... Restarting...
Me: it's not loading.... why? NO! I bricked it..... NO NO NO NO.....
*1 hour of flailing...*
Hey Recovery still works! OK, let's try to reflashing the OS
Phone: Flashing... Restarting...
Me: Please, please... let this work.... it's not starting............. wait. IT LOADED!!!! WOOT!!!! AWESOME...
Phone: still no root...
And there went my most of my evening which I was supposed to spend preparing for an interview tomorrow....8
Guy says Linux sucks. Doesn't get updates or software support.
His PC starts flashing.
'My computer is not responding'3
Expect a samsung rant in a few days. I'll write it while i'm flashing twrp and resurrection remix.7
I'm in a situation here, I had an idea for an app and I started coding it. Since I'm a front end developer I find it not amusing to do the backend part. I then started to share the idea and such with good classmate (not a coder). I then made him join me on this adventure. After a lot of coding he said he wanted to contribute with something since I'm coding all day and he's not. Then we agreed freelancing the back end part.
Some time later we got a pretty good deal on some Indians doing the whole app. I thought to myself "this feels kinda good!" so we went on with the freelancer.
Days went to months and we finally got the app back. I did a mistake of paying him all the milestones without testing the app in its wholeness, later finding out that one part of the login system didn't work. That lead to a deeper debug to find out that the core function of the app was commented out.. I then wrote the freelancer back with minimal and slow response.
Now the deadline of the app is like in 2 months. If not we miss a whole year.
My classmate knows about this and he's the one who played for the freelancing. Now we have talked about me doing the whole backend myself.
The only issue I have now is that I feel like he's just sitting home doing nothing other than flashing money around and me busting my ass of writing code that I really am not good at. (basically learning more than coding)
But he played a lot of money for this.. So I feel kinda bad for him.
Had the tingly feeling of distro hopping. So I downloaded the new OS. Checked to see the partitions using lsblk and went ahead with dd to flash the OS.
To /dev/sdb. While for some freaking reason my hard drive was mounted on sdb. And dual booted Windows was the first partition.
Realised and stopped it just two seconds later but the damage was done.
Installing windows now. 🤖2
Tried out almost all major Mobile Phone OS/s (flashable in a Android device)not on a emulator by flashing...
1. Android/CM and derivatives.(base)
2. Sailfish OS ( GNU underneath launch apps from .desktop files)
3. Ubuntu Touch (annoying OS)
4. Firefox OS ( slow af)
5. Tizen OS.... (It's like Firefox OS (gecko) but in webkit)
Web technologies are just OK even in desktops. Who the f said it is ok to write a whole OS ui in it??
Sorry Did I say it wasn't a rant... Got carried away by the Firefox and Tizen OS....5
It is 4:55.
I should sleep.
I've just created a GLSL shader on my phone which renders the Mandelbrot set in 4 bright flashing colors while zooming in.1
I've known that users are stupid and should keep that in mind when designing a website. But holy shit that's ridiculous!!!
He said that "when something is not on the middle of the screen flashing then we are not seeing it!"
How the fuck would it look like if I will place the fucking menubar on the middle of the screen with flashing red and blue colors for you dumbass to see?? If you are that incompetent to look on the top (not to mention it's fixed) of the layout where 99% of main menus are placed then you shouldn't use a computer in the first place.
Or maybe my design is bad I am getting uncertain.7
devRant.. I need your help.
So for the last year I've been self teaching myself python, go, & haskell. I've really been enjoying myself, to the point we're I would like to make it my career. Insert problem, I stumbled upon ECU(engine control unit) reprogramming & flashing, and instantly fell in love with the idea. However I can not find any information it. Every college I've called talks to me like I just asked them to teach me witchcraft.
Does any dev have experience with ecu programming? How did you get into it?
I finally managed to install arch 😊 (in virtualbox).
I tried a few months ago on my actual computer but got the flashing underscore, and failed to find the cause. Ever since I've been meaning to try again but always didn't like the prospect of sitting there for ages just to end up with a complete mess. Luckily the tutorial seems a load clearer now (or maybe my understanding has improved) so it worked first time (second time if you count going back because I forgot to install a network manager).
Now I've just got to get a desktop environment, thinking of trying lxqt, and I forget about it for a while until I come back and realise everything's broken.3
You say my ROM is crashing and is unstable ???
How dare you ?
I have spent 1 fucking month running it daily just to test it and its freaking stable and fast even after 1 month of hard use and lots of apps.
So sorry but i cant fix that you are fucking stupid and cant read flashing instruction properly.8
An alternative OS for phones able to be installed super simply without flashing or unlocking the bootloader, similar to how easy it was to jailbreak am iPhone years ago. It would also have a focus on privacy and the ability to turn off and on as much functionality as the user wants2
Kinda funny story:
Yesterday i was just flashing my phone when suddenly my main system decided to crash (phone wasint connected to it, heck, i wasint even touching that motherfucker) so guess what? My system turned into bluescreen moster that isint even able to boot. I tryed entering safemode but i had no luck....
So ive reinstalled it... BUT GUESS FUCKING WHAT?!?! True key has dual authentification system for which i had to confirm acess from my phone or email to which i had no acess since ive flashed my phone.... And then i had to deal with that bs2
So my OP6 is supposed to arrive in a few days... Hopefully and wanted some advice so I don't brick it.
I want to root and was wondering how safe it is these days.
Last time I did it was years ago for my OPO but I'm not sure how much things have changed or if anything different with Oxygen.
I'm running on TWRP, SuperSU and Lineage 14 now.
I saw some guides that suggest TWRP and Magisk (hides root better?).
But don't plan to flash custom ROM as it seems OP now works best with Oxygen? And maybe something won't be supported in Lineage?
And will flashing recovery mess anything up... For some reason I recall OP had a stock recovery which would get overwritten?7
Dual-booted Gaming Computer: A Saga of Frustration, Alcoholism*, and Relief
So a while back my gaming computer was booting Antergos Linux and Windows 10. It took me a few months, but I finally became fed up with Windows 10's bullshit of putting ads in the OS (Suggested Apps, OneDrive, etc.) and reinstating all of their defaults after an upgrade (Edge, privacy settings, the People Button in 1709).
So, I backed up my data and installed Windows 7. Windows 7 has a bright, consistent look, and in my opinion still holds up as a good operating system.
However, I couldn't boot into Antergos after that. For whatever reason, no matter how hard I tried, I just wasn't able to. So, I decided to reinstall. Might as well, anyway.
Now, I have an nVidia card, which does not play well with the OSS drivers, so it's basically normal for me to have to unplug my card and use the on-board graphics. So I do that and boot into the LiveUSB, do the install, boot into the desktop, install the nVidia drivers package, shut down.
I reinstall the card, turn the computer on... and nothing. Just a black screen with a flashing underline. I can't even get into a TTY session.
I ended up trying a few other distributions--Gecko Linux, Arch Labs, Manjaro--but all had the same issue. I was about to give up, but decided to try Antergos one more time, but with the newest install media.
And it worked! I was so freaking happy! I can finally play my Linux games again!1
My grandparent once wanted me to fix their tablet which they said had a virus. I couldn't find anything so I went to the web browser. A tab was up which said "Your Android has 5 viruses please download our antivirus to clean your phone"
It had the fake gif flashing alerts and whatnot so I simply closed out of the tab and deleted all of the recent "antiviruses" which had been downloaded
To this day they think I'm a technical genius for the easiest "fix" I've ever done.
Oh and merry Christmas everybody! I'm new here but it seems like a great community of people :)3
I was having fun with GPIO recently. Now I have an RGB LED flashing in my room when my alarm clock starts ringing.
Android App sending HTTP Request when Alarm has been triggered, php starts a bash script (was too lazy to do it in php). Bash script does its job for 10 seconds.
Hard day because flashing of my android failed yesterday night and haven't time the whole day to fix it but it was a very productive day at the office ;)3
So my desktop just crapped itself big time... 😧
It has been having trouble booting for the past few weeks, going into a rave flashing all the monitors, but usually recovering after a couple of minutes.
Today a got even more rave and after 10 minutes and a forced reboot, all I get now is a cursor... 😢
Guess it's time to reinstall Windows, hopefully that will fix the missing icons and thumbnails too 😅4
Wiping your whole data, including your soon-to-be new OS zip before flashing your first custom ROM on Android
So I hit my OPO back since my bro didn't want it.
And I just finished flashing Lineage 15.1 so basically it runs a better version of Android 8.1 than my OP6.
And right now, it is fcking smooth and fast...
I finally understand why everyone here hates Windows.
I updated to the latest version on my laptop and now whenever I wake the laptop from sleep mode my screen just starts flashing like crazy and I can't use the laptop until fully turning it off and on again.
Now I have to either do a fresh install of Windows again or try switching to Linux 🤔3
TL:DR I wanna scare the shit out of intruders, do you recommend Arduino or Raspberry Pi?
So, I live in a place kinda like a college, but everyone get their own room. There's staff 24/7, and obviously, I really dislike some of them. Otheres I just like to joke with.
Sometimes, I've thought of putting together a "system" which will probably make them shit a brick.
The way I would do this, is have an Arduino or Raspberry Pi connected to a sensor, which will trigger an airhorn somehow. Yes, and airhorn. They should shit bricks, remember?
That's the beginning tho. Later, if this ever becomes something, I plan on adding some system so it wont trigger when I open the door, along with flashing red lights when intruders opens the door.
I attached a picture. The smaller rectangle is my closet. First circle is the sensor, which I assume can just tell when the door moves, if I place it correctly.
The rectangle is the Arduino or Raspberry Pi, which should control it all as you probably already know.
The second circle is the airhorn. Not sure how I'm gonna trigger that yet.
So, does any of you have some advice or recommendations on how I can make this dream become true? Or even additional components to make it more efficient?
Last and most importantly, would Arduino or Raspberry Pi be best for this, is there a specific model thats better fit?10
Neighbour/Family Friend/Anyone with a Computer:" So what are you doing nowadays then son?"
Me: "Working full time now as a computer programmer"
(PC owner): "Ah well me interweb and printer has packed up and keeps flashing these lights..."
I was once 'fraped' by a former (non technical) manager. I decided to retaliate by returning the favour while he was out of the office, but instead of the basic toilet humour I had been subjected to, I took it one step further and posted a status on his behalf, a sensitive cry for help, full of sadness, regret, alluding to betrayal and broken friendships. The texts, calls, concerned replies and messages on Facebook started flashing up his phone. He called me demanding I delete the status now as he couldn't figure out how to do so from his phone. Needless to say he was not happy. Highly recommended.1
