This is Spork. Spork lives on the desk in my apartment.
My girlfriend bought the plant for her office but he wasn't getting enough light there so now he has a better home on my desk and gets lots of sunlight during the day.

I'm starting a new job next week so I don't currently have a desk, but my boyfriend loves the cross stitched Yoshis I made for him!
Also, fuck cross stitching. It's the worst. I'm never doing it again. What was supposed to be a Christmas gift turned into a belated Valentine's gift.

I keep a little box with decks of cards in it on my desk. Shuffling is a good way to keep my hands busy while thinking and solitaire with actual cards is a great way to unpick the knots in my head.

My trusty password manager, so I dont have to remember those shitty passwords. (its however being rebuilt after a failed firmware upgrade who bricked it).

The knitted Minecraft creeper my girlfriend made for me. More incentive to figure out bugs compared to the usual rubber duck...

My favorite thing is my nerf gun. In my office different teams are organized in different pods. You never know when a war will break out between the teams, you need to be able to defend yourself! Also not bad for getting someone's attention who has headphones on...

My desk monkey. He serves the purpose of both keeping the monitors dust free and receiving verbal abuse when things go wrong . . .

My favorite thing on my desk would be my laptop.
If only it hadn't DIED three months ago after being impossibly slow for three months before that.

This sad Keanu was gifted to me by a coworker and friend. He sticked it to the monitor, when I was on vacation and he felt bored without me.
Keanu is sad, because I had to break one of his legs, so it does not occlude the monitor.
Also the sad post-it-Smiley came later. Another coworker messed around with my cube of magnetic spheres in my absence. He could not put it back to a cube together, so he left this post it on the magnetic spheres. I thought that day Keanu and the post-it fit together well. This sad Keanu now wears a sad mask.
Because this item reminds me of the kind coworkers and nice occasions, it is my favorite item on the desk.

My Unicorns 🦄.
If you look at the picture you will see more than one and there is a funny story behind them. About three years ago I was talking about a new project and I wanted to call it the Magic API, however I work for a religious organization and they said that it would be a problem to call it that. So I said what the hell how about unicorn? They said that would probably be okay. Then I saw that Microsoft had unicorn tags for their developers so it has been my thing ever since then.
So Unicorns it is. 🦄

I posted one for work already but this little guy sits on my desk at home.
Meet Donkey, he's 32 years old and suffers from male pattern baldness. My mom made him for me when I was 2 years old (thus the odd name I gave him) and he's been with me ever since.

This is my favorite item on my desk at work. A kinetic sand frame. Gifted by my girlfriend on my birthday. This frame is always a nice detraction from the difficult stuff.

I didn't have a job during week 15, but I have one now! My favorite desk item: a picture of a dinosaur riding a bicycle, which I picked up at a craft fair this weekend.
... Do you think my coworkers can tell I like cycling?

Probably my favorite item is the canister I use as a pen/squishy ball holder. My Dad gave it to me; it's part of a self rescue respirator from the salt mine he works at.
I got to go down in the mine several years ago, pretty awesome. It's around 700ft deep underground and is fully self supporting; down there everything is salt, the walls, floor and ceiling.

There is nothing on my messy desk other than never ending work. Damn, I need to get something. What can I get,
* a toy : not my kind of stuff
* a bike : not enough room
* a small plant : hard to find in the dessert (uae)

this lil guy right here. there was a time when we're not allowed personal stuff on our desks, and i needed a rubber duck for rdd. so i made this lil guy. he's really gr8 at debugging

Favourite item has to be our coding monkey. He sits next to me and every time I can't figure out some code I leave him on my keyboard and have a break, hoping he'll fix it for me... Never works but there's always hope!

My GOTG pop figures are my favorite items on my desk. Whenever I have a bad day at work, I make their heads move and that cheers me up :P Drax is missing though

My favorite item on my desk is my "Tiny" Dota2 demihero vinyl. He can hold all kinds of stuff like my pens, glasses, earbuds, and whatevs. Here he is holding my SlothBacca hat!

These guys. I drink a lot of water (I stopped drinking coffee so I had to replace it with something).

The copious amounts of alcohol I can consume after spending 3.5 hours finding where the missing } should be. Not to mention the mini-fridge stocked up with cans/bottles of lager and a fresh, nice cold bottle of Jäger 👍😛

It might seem simple but my coffee grinder is my favourite thing. each morning I grind up a fresh batch to brew. without this the days would be dark indeed.

My favorite thing at my desk is my adult coloring book. I'm a developer/project manager hybrid so I have to deal directly with the clients AND build their sites. 🙄👎🏼 Coloring in this is very therapeutic; the sayings are hilariously vulgar.😆👌🏼

This thing. My C:\ drive is full, and I bought it almost a month ago. It's the solution to all my problems and my biggest nightmare (I need to do a clean install).

I keep my desk at work uncluttered, and I haven't set up a workspace at home yet, but when I do, the pride of my desk will definitely be my namesake.

Yeah, I should change this old 5:4 epic low quality display. PC: i5-4460x4 8gb RAM running as support / Laptop: Acer VN7-791G i7-4720HQx4 16gb RAM 17". Mouse and keyboard shared with Synergy.

I admire those people that are able to concentrate everywhere. I'm always looking for it and sometimes find it in the peace of my bedroom. Today found it in my car while listening to music from 70 to 90's

I can't choose just one so here are my favorite desk things...
In order of appearance:
Coffee, because no dev can dev without.
Mini whiteboards, (one on each side), makes for easy quick notes and helps me organize my thoughts.
Legos, specifically #4070 because of its intriguing geometrics. Tearing them apart and making different shapes helps me think through problems.
Code keyboard, pure excellence.
Logitech MX master mouse, same as above.

I used to have a "Dinosaur Plant" from ThinkGeek, that was always good for a "WTF?" when the biz folks would come by asking for favors.

I prefer to have lesser things to my desk except my monitor I connect my laptop to and my speakers and peripherals.
I like my desk to be absolutely as clean as it can get. -

My desk is usually clean. I have a small sponge ball and a drawing pad on my desk. Its not much, but it does help me get through the daily pressure. I've seen people keep a small plant on their desk but I dont understand why . Maybe i will if I keep one.3

So I had a pet goat... He was this one developer that would walk around and bother people all day. We called him a goat because of the way he would move his mouth and smack during long pauses, like a goat or cow would do with a mouth full of grass.

I don't even have a desk! LOL, but like to keep the snack jar reachable. I'm like "turning snack and coffee in to code"
