After 3 years finally taking an actual holiday... I don't have my computer with me, no access to work, no WiFi... Just my beautiful family, the beach and a beautiful resort to explore.6

My wife is turning into my project manager . . .
Me : Check out this game I'm building as a side project!
Wife : Wow that's really neat! I expect to be able to play it on my phone. 1 month?
Me: What? I haven't even learned how to port ...
Wife : (interrupts) ONE MONTH
Scope creep even at home *sigh13 -

Informal poll: how often do you find yourself looking up trivial things, even if you're a seasoned vet? I know I do almost every day.5

Fun fact for today
Do you know why we call computer bugs as computer bugs, and not just the formal word for it - "errors and glitches"
Some of you guys might already know this, but still worth sharing:

I present to you the rubber duck I use for debugging.
that's right I dont have one. I just to talk to myself really. but what's curious is that when I do this, I tend to cock my head to a side, or turn slightly in my chair as if I was talking to someone just behind me. I didnt realize I was doing this until my cousin pointed it out to me coz it was creeping her out.
let me also mention that I used to have an imaginary friend growing up. his name's Jesse. I dont know if it really is just a weird mannerism or maybe I was still subconsciously talking to him.3 -
I hate it when my manager lurks around when i am debugging and keeps giving random unsolicited advices. I spend more time explaining him why what he is saying does not make any sense than debugging.3

Boss: "it's not the same font"
Me: "yes, it is"
Boss: "don't argue with me. It's a different font"
Me: "ok it's a different font" (it's not)
Boss: "change it please"
15 minutes later and I've done nothing at all to it. Boss comes back.
Boss: "see? I knew it was a different font. This looks perfect now. Why were you lying to me before? I don't like you arguing with me"11 -
Way back, 20 or so years ago, when I went to the university, every student got an account so that we could work with the Unix machines. Every user got the same default password, -apollo-, still remember it until today, and one day I felt a little bit evil and I tried to login to the administrator account, of course the first password I tried was the default password and it worked!!! I got super scared and told an older student about it, who was brave enough to scare the administrators a little bit by leaving a message like "you have been hacked!!!" or something similar. I was just too scared to do anything about it. All I wanted to do was see IF I could login ☺️ my few minutes of being Mr. Robot... Guess hacking was not for me 😃
