When you delete a block of code that you thought was useless..

Somewhere in my early teens, I started playing with macro scripts in Microsoft Word or Excel. After that I tried my hand at creating a full-on VB app. After creating several of those I tried Python, C++, then HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Short story: My first distributed program was what I used to get my first girlfriend: A program that told her all the things I was too shy to say and ask the things I was too afraid to ask... Including "will you be my girlfriend?" Fun times 😄

In a programming contest, I forgot how to round numbers in Java, an I needed a 3 number rounding, so I multiplied the number by 1000, then sum 0.5 and convert it to integer so the decimal part would be gone, finally, just print the number except the 3 last digits as a string, put a period and print the other 3 digits.
I must say I'm not proud of that.

I have a shitty internet connection that cuts off every ten seconds and reconnects after 30 seconds. I was searching for a particular channel when my connection cut off just as I wrote 'fake' when it reconnected 30 seconds later, the search autocompleted itself. thank you very much you amazing programmers.

This project is such garbage. JavaScript built at runtime with JSP bindings, every form is submitted with Ajax even when it doesn't need it. Ajax calls with HTML in a JavaScript string sent to the server only to be echoed back to the front end to build DOM elements. I literally can't even.

Just remembered joke:

Had a bug that I just couldn't figure out. How did I solve it? Had to think like a user. Just started clicking options over and over. Not giving it time. Found my issue.
