I start my first "real" job on Monday. I will be one of roughly three new junior full stack developers on a team of 15 senior devs. The company has a casual dress code and they allow headphones. What should I expect? I want to grow and I don't want to be a nuisance, I also want to earn a reputation and become respected when I do have something to say.6

I'm kinda amazed at how simple it is to host my private git server on my raspberry pi. That being said I couldn't get it to work well as an access point with hostapd. Therefore pushing and pulling while on my home wifi works like a charm, but doing this in public requires ethernet. Having an Ethernet run from outside my backpack really does make me look like some hacker terrorist person, especially in NYC5

Am I the only one that doesn't comprehend why they didn't attempt to recover the shards of Anton's corpse? I mean there really isn't anything to lose and some parts may still be working. My brother and I could only conclude that it wouldn't be as dramatic as the straight up massacre by recklessness10 -
Was using node for a side project, but then I was like ehhh I could finish this but using js on the backend is kinda sad, and ive worked with Django before so I figured oh maybe, python would be a step above js, but still not satisfied. I started following a guide for PHP and doing research and I almost vomited. Then I start following a guide for Ruby on Rails, which I am now wondering where the fuck ive been ignoring it for years. Now I'm "on rails" and typing this on a train teeheeehee6

The one time I tried acid, my peak consisted of first three boxes of alternating 1s & 0s followed by an error 404 hallucination

Does anyone else have this dilemma? Headphone cable is in the way whenever I type on my keyboard. It is such a small issue but it makes me fucking livid. Sometimes I tuck the wire behind mugs and water cups but it causes spills when I stand up and don't pay attention.32

I've worked with both but help me understand when it'd be advantageous to use Django vs Node.js for a project. Also should I really learn PHP or Ruby ?3 -
Great things aren't developed in one day and night with excessive caffeine and hard work. They are developed in many days and many nights with excessive caffeine and hard work.

That feeling when your mom frequently tells you multiple screens is bad for you and urges you to use just one screen.2

My top lesson was realizing that I am a stubborn person, and that I was wrong to keep trying to implement unimplemented features past a deadline and that I need to understand when to give up. I also learned that I can't trust others to finish their part of something I start. There is nothing like seeing the entire backend you wrote be gutted by someone else because they "needed to learn how route handlers work by creating it themselves" and then seeing them not complete said route handlers.

For starters this is my first post, found devrant the other day you're all hilarious.
I hate math, I hate proofs. I'm in a class "Analysis of Algorithms" and I have understood and do understand the importance of optimizing algorithms and data structures and I understand the algorithms and data structures themselves. That being said, I'm fucking sick of math and proofs and all this bullshit that is probably pretty important but ugggghh, I guess I just have to push through, but writing this out helped.14
