i'm starting to like reactjs over vanilla, but i can't help but remember how it suffers on npm's dependency hell. i mean just look at what happened before at left-pad. it makes you feel like the entire system is so fragile.3

hi guys so i'll be having a tutorial session tomorrow about java programming(not my choice) and im looking for scratch(like) game or any block programming games that can have classes with methods and properties. btw i want to use block type programming first before getting into hard coding because (at least i think) it can help ease the learning curve, it will help understanding about the concepts first without the pressure of remembering syntax. any recommendations?1

its already 2019 and still.. why do most of the popular html5 ui framework still needs minimum of 3 divs deep just to get a grid view!?2

ok,. so i've been into job hunting for a while and i found this rather attractive posting with reasonable salary and work hours, it clearly states "PHP Backend Programming With Laravel", so i applied, a day later, i got in contact with the employer via skype, and to my surprise, the employer told me that skills in c# is required because the job position is for a senior c# dev... smh2

Hi!, Greetings fellow ranters,
I got into thinking this past few days. Because over the years, i really wanted to start my career as a freelance web/mobile developer, i'm not planning to quit my job(yet), but i want to slowly but surely build my freelance career. I just need some advice from you on how i should optimally or best approach this goal, and where/how should i find clients or what sites should i find clients, i know freelancer.com but I've heard other freelancers who had nightmares with it, upwork is also kind of overcrowded.13 -
I still feel crossed because my linux workstation just died without any usable error message, the only thing that saved the day is my second unplugged hard drive with windows installed in it, it was working fine last night, i always shut it down properly and i only ever used it for dev. i'm still baffled and a bit furious about it, its ubuntu for god's sake, I switched to linux months ago and loved it, but now i feel as if i was betrayed.5

how to learn web development in 2018:
- watch youtube video of that new shiny promising framework
- spend hours trying to set up development environment
- spend another hours waiting for the dependencies to install
- spend the next few hours wondering and googling why it wont work even at fresh install
- spend another few hours redoing everything just to make sure you haven't missed a step
- realize that the youtube video you watched is uploaded last week, and now the framework developers mysteriously decided to change literally everything
- spend hours looking for another youtube video until you realize that now you are watching completely unrelated youtube video
- spend next hours wondering how your life become this pathetic while overthinking all of your past mistakes, and now you are just this lonely pathetic person with no clear future and that you will spend the rest of your life working at a fastfood chain below the minimum wage with no social life living on your parent's basement.9 -
you literally change about 80% of your business flow then demand new features/modules for literally at least once every 3 months, then you are angry why your 2 underpaid, overworked programmers can't catch up.

Dear Client.
Please don't whine why your site is down, you haven't paid us in like 3 months, and its on the contract that you signed, we only have limited patience.
sincerely yours,

working as a freelancer,. one thing my family should learn is that,. no one should ever disturb a programmer on full concentration.3

Friend: Why do you always listen to metal music when coding?
Me: So that if non-programmers saw me smashing my keyboard, they will understand better why I did so.
Friend: Fair point.....3
