boss' revenge
So here https://devrant.com/rants/1349878/... posted prank played on boss. For 3days I been freaking out what boss will do as revenge (check env and alias everytime I login). Then yesterday happened his revenge.
Was doing testing on my programs & sometime some programs would run but sometime it get segmentation fault. Seemed random first but then saw a pattern... everytime I get segmentation fault and I run again it would be fine. Checked alias... nothing, /etc/crontab, env, ps -ef... nothing seemed off, cksum of my binary... correct. Fuck! "What my boss did?" asked myself. Finally .5hrs later I saw entry in my id's crontab but then 1min later it's gone from my crontab
From there figured out how boss did it:
1) He replaced ntpd with his C program that runs in background creating an entry in my crontab every few mins
2) The entry in my crontab set to run /foobar/ulittleprick.sh every 2mins
3) ulittleprick.sh picks random binary owned by me, rename binary.name to .binary.name.nitwit and create a script named binary.name
4) Then ulittleprick.sh will remove itself from cron
What the generated binary.name script does? Sleep for 2 secs, echo "Segmentation fault", then rename back .binary.name.nitwit to binary.name. It even exits with status 139! I want to cry! Worst part is comment in 2nd line of ulittleprick.sh... kill me now

but i study more again i hate making mistakes. -
Took a task with 3 story points ( mappable to ~2-3days) and wondered why it was so much more than the estimation. I expected to finish in 2 to 2 1/2 days but needed 4. Afterwards I just realized that I accidentally did more then needed and finished two upcoming stories as well, each 2 SP so 7SP for everything.
Feeling jumped from "man I could be faster" to "man that was really fast".
It feels like a fuck up, however, it is victory1 -

Today was a shitty day. i made a mistake and lost my work (3days of work gone) had to do it from scratch managed to recover some parts tho. FML1

Damn. 3days and not yet finished with this bug.
Problem: in js, we want to popup a dialog to user that he us living the page.
So we used onbeforeunload.
Works well with chrome, ie and firefox (atfirst).
Then i updated my firefox to latest version and onbeforeunload is not triggering.
And it also occurs in tablet. Argh! Damn challenges on cross platform/browser compatibilities.

So I'm working on a project with another developer and a frontend guy. Now the frontend guy has the lead as the other dev and I can only do our job based on his work. So he had 3 months to deliver us the first part BUT has rarely been in communication. When he does email he just says "designing concept "FOR 3 FUCKING MONTHS" Now we are 1 week before the project is due for delivery and he is saying that he will send us over the concept this FRIDAY!! 3days days before project is due.........................................................................................AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHRBFKDBDKSJRUDISNCFKSORVEOFBFOWBFFKDKWNDB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2

Reddit hasn't been helpful, so here goes nothing. I, a 24 yo single child with over protective parents who has never let me go on trips until last year, have decided to go on a community trip. it is via one of those Instagram pages who take a bus full of people to remote treks, have all the rooms+food+expenses covered in one fee. they will be going to tirthan valley and its a 3days trip.
i have mixed emotions. i am feeling excited, adventurous, a bit raunchy and a whole lot of scared and conscious. The crime patrol and delhi crimes have ruined a lot of dreams for me, and have made my parents downright paranoid. i have recently been feeling like a kid who gets everything from someone else and don't know how to survive on my own, so want to close my eyes a bit, trust the world and take this adventurous trip
Well that's the post. I have been to trips with my parents and friends, so i will probably figure out what to take or not take. I don't wanna ask you, the audience to share some advice or be my damsel in distress but this step is scary, exciting and full of unknowns so just shared my thoughts. I will appreciate your thoughts on this too6 -
3 days when I had to complete documentation for an audit. I only returned to my room to shower and change clothes for the next day. That too I left at 8AM and returned at 09:30AM.
2 days when I had to complete setting up the office network over the weekend. Note that this was over a weekend.
And this is without counting the many hours I've spent semi-working at hackathons. I've gone up to 60 hours without sleep, coding the shit out of my brains.2 -

this is more of a story to be honest IDK what I am gonna do it seems like more of the poeple with the ideology of anonyimity is evil seems to surrond me
so at the moment I might need to hang low becuase of projects like IP-RAPID I will be replying for 3days then will try to get the itch off my back called anti anonyimity
